The Staff Psychologist is responsible for providing mental health services to currently enrolled students at SMU. Works to remain up to date in the literature on the needs of college and professional students, fellows and trainees; researches and executes evidence-based strategies and interventions targeted toward this population.

Clinical Supervision (for licensed applicants only): Provides supervision and training for doctoral interns, practicum student trainees, and graduate assistants. Monitors client welfare while providing observation, feedback and support to enhance the supervisee's clinical skills and encourage their professional growth and development. Provides ethical guidance and support to supervisee(s) for challenging situations.
Occasional evening/weekend hours may be required for outreach events.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A PhD or PsyD in Psychology is required.
A minimum of two years of experience is required.
Experience with crisis intervention and providing clinical services to culturally diverse client population is required.
Experience providing services to college students in a college setting is strongly preferred.
Experience with brief and short-term models of psychotherapy is also preferred.
Experience supervising graduate student mental health trainees is preferred.
Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Texas is required.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated substance abuse counselor to help provide guidance and support for our students. In this role, you are responsible for conducting intake assessments, individual counseling, group therapy, and case coordination services. In addition you are required to develop all Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programming and treatment. You are also called upon to provide consultation and help with coordination of peer recovery services on campus.
To ensure success, the substance abuse counselor should be familiar with the latest treatment methods and collaborate with other mental health care specialists. Successful candidates will have excellent clinical knowledge and experience working with people in recovery.
Essential Functions:
Provides assessment, individual counseling, group therapy, screening, information and education to persons requesting help. Evaluates clients' physical and mental behaviors, develops appropriate treatment and recovery plans, documents all services in the electronic health record, monitors clients over time to access treatment progress and case manages and refers to facilities and programs.
Develops and implements early intervention and outreach program. Helps to develop a sober community program on campus.
Collaborates regularly with counselors, psychiatrists, medical providers, and social workers. Assists primary caregivers to manage addiction-related behavior. Works collaboratively with the Office of Wellbeing, Dean of Students Office, and The Conduct Office.
Supports other counseling clinical services and programs.

The Office of Social Change and Intercultural Engagement connects students with opportunities to engage with and learn from the SMU campus, Dallas community, and beyond. The office prioritizes advocacy and awareness through immersive community engagement experiences and social justice education.
About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Associate Director of Social Change and Intercultural Engagement provides training, development, advice, and support for student success, leadership development, diversity, and social justice education. This position also supports the office's mission by developing and implementing programs that increase awareness, knowledge, and skills with regard to creating diverse and inclusive environments in addition to experiential learning. The Associate Director supports initiatives that benefit the entire campus community including large-scale retreats, trainings, and programs.
Essential Functions:
Supervision and leadership: Provide supervision and leadership to the Community Engagement Coordinator including regular meetings and performance appraisal
Program Development: Develop, implement and coordinate the student development programs. These include the CONNECT Student Success Program including and program assessment. Implement leadership, diversity, and social justice education programs.
Serve as a Co-Initiator working with Engage Dallas in managing the Core team. Will oversee the Offsite and Risk Team, and the Education and Training. Take on project teams as necessary.
Partnerships: In partnership with the the SCIE team, develop and maintain collaborative relationships and work closely with campus and community partners to implement programs that facilitate a diverse, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Serve as the departmental assessment contact with responsibility for attending assessment training and completing requested and annual assessment reporting.
Teamwork: Serve as a member of the SCIE team contributing to staff meetings and other department-wide initiatives as assigned. Serves as a member of the Student Development team. Support the implementation and realization of the goals and learning domains in the student affairs strategic plan.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A Master's degree is required.
A minimum of five years of experience is required. Experience in program development and student leadership development is strongly preferred. Three years of experience working with diverse student populations is required.

The Associate Director of Social Change and Intercultural Engagement provides training, development, advice, and support for student success, leadership development, diversity, and social justice education. The Associate Director supports initiatives that benefit the entire campus community including large-scale retreats, trainings, and programs.

Serve as the departmental assessment contact with responsibility for attending assessment training and completing requested and annual assessment reporting.

Physically walks and inspects communities on a regular basis. Inspects units prior to move out to coordinate make-ready process. Walks all move-outs, assesses charges and inspects vacant units prior to move-in. Manages all keys, lock changes, garage and apartment codes, and resets as needed. Coordinates with facilities staff to ensure timely Work Order response and make-ready of apartment after move out.
Manages resident experience and provides proper response and customer service when complaints are received. Responds to emergency matters as situations arise. Triages any billing discrepancies. Provides high quality customer service to all tenants. Maintains knowledge about local market conditions and impact that has on RLSH apartment properties.
Serves as backup for RLSH front of house operations. Assists with oversight and support of student ambassador team. Makes operations area purchases to maintain daily functions as directed. Supports and communicates RLSH policies to callers and/or walk-ins. Assists with clearance/access audits on a semester by semester basis.
Serves on department or institutional committees as needed or directed. Provides leadership and support during opening and closing of the residence halls each quarter. Serves as a resource to residents who have questions about housing policies and procedures. Supports RLSH processes and policies year-round. Other duties as assigned.
Occasional weekend hours may be required during peak periods.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

About the Department:
The Office of Wellbeing Education was established in 2022 and is responsible for health promotion for the SMU community, including oversight of the Wellbeing Education Student Team (WESTies) that provides peer education. Additionally, the University’s recovery efforts are housed within the office. There is considerable opportunity for the development and growth of wellbeing efforts at SMU as this office continues to take shape.

The Director of Wellbeing Education works as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students leadership team in assessing, developing, managing, and promoting a holistic health and wellness culture at Southern Methodist University (SMU). This position will develop and implement a vision for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education and work collaboratively with offices and departments across campus to promote wellbeing, specifically those within the Division of Student Affairs. The Director of Wellbeing Education supervises staff members, including the recovery program coordinator.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education using evidence-based health promotion approaches to develop a vision, strategies, and programs that advance a culture of holistic health and wellbeing and address critical priority areas for student wellness at SMU. This includes supervising the recovery program coordinator.
Collaborate with colleagues across campus and within the Division of Student Affairs in planning and implementing large- and small-scale programming and presentations for the campus that promote health and wellbeing.
Conduct health needs assessments and other public health surveys to drive program planning. Produce comprehensive reports to educate stakeholders and inform strategic planning and decision-making. Complete the biannual Drug Free Campus-Act reports.
Support the ongoing work of the Student Recovery Program and oversee the substance use prevention efforts on campus.
Maintain and oversee department budgets in partnership with the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and the Senior Financial Budget Officer for the Division of Student Affairs. Pursue additional funding for program and office support through collaboration with the Division of Development and External Affairs' fundraising efforts and through grant writing.
Provide direction and leadership for a core group of students to promote awareness and effective delivery of health-related information and programs. Recruit, train, and supervise 10-15 Wellbeing Education Team members (WESTies) each year.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree is required. Field of study for degree in public health, higher education or other closely related field, is required.

Experience with developing and utilizing student/peer leaders is preferred. Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis is preferred.
Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) credential is preferred.

About the Department:
The Office of Wellbeing Education was established in 2022 and is responsible for health promotion for the SMU community, including oversight of the Wellbeing Education Student Team (WESTies) that provides peer education. Additionally, the University’s recovery efforts are housed within the office. There is considerable opportunity for the development and growth of wellbeing efforts at SMU as this office continues to take shape.

The Director of Wellbeing Education works as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students leadership team in assessing, developing, managing, and promoting a holistic health and wellness culture at Southern Methodist University (SMU). This position will develop and implement a vision for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education and work collaboratively with offices and departments across campus to promote wellbeing, specifically those within the Division of Student Affairs. The Director of Wellbeing Education supervises staff members, including the recovery program coordinator.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education using evidence-based health promotion approaches to develop a vision, strategies, and programs that advance a culture of holistic health and wellbeing and address critical priority areas for student wellness at SMU. This includes supervising the recovery program coordinator.
Collaborate with colleagues across campus and within the Division of Student Affairs in planning and implementing large- and small-scale programming and presentations for the campus that promote health and wellbeing.
Conduct health needs assessments and other public health surveys to drive program planning. Produce comprehensive reports to educate stakeholders and inform strategic planning and decision-making. Complete the biannual Drug Free Campus-Act reports.
Support the ongoing work of the Student Recovery Program and oversee the substance use prevention efforts on campus.
Maintain and oversee department budgets in partnership with the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and the Senior Financial Budget Officer for the Division of Student Affairs. Pursue additional funding for program and office support through collaboration with the Division of Development and External Affairs' fundraising efforts and through grant writing.
Provide direction and leadership for a core group of students to promote awareness and effective delivery of health-related information and programs. Recruit, train, and supervise 10-15 Wellbeing Education Team members (WESTies) each year.
Serve as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Leadership Team.
The position requires some evening and weekend work depending upon training requests and student needs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree is required. Field of study for degree in public health, higher education or other closely related field, is required.
A minimum of five years of work experience in the field of health education or health promotion is required. College health and wellbeing experience or experience with corporate wellbeing initiatives is required.
Experience with developing and utilizing student/peer leaders is preferred. Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis is preferred.
Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) credential is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Campus Recreation is home to three facilities: Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports, Intramural Field, and Crum Lacrosse and Sports Field and four program areas: Aquatics, Fitness, Outdoor Adventures and Sport Programs.

The Assistant Director of Sport Programs provides oversight of intramural sports, sport clubs, sport camps, and the outdoor facilities within Campus Recreation. This position contributes to the accomplishment of Campus Recreation and Student Affairs goals and objectives through student development, assessment, and sport programs oversight for the wellbeing of students.
Essential Functions:
Develops, organizes, implements, and assesses an intramural sports program that meets the needs of the SMU community. Recruits, trains, develops, supervises, assesses, and mentors student staff. Manages the risk of the program and coordinates athletic trainers for high risk sports. Develops, evaluates, and assesses program rules. Manages the intramural budget.
Manages the risk of sport clubs, administers the Sport Club Compliance System, and develops sport club officers. Fosters strong relationships with campus partners to support sport club initiatives, particularly with student senate and student involvement. Manages the sport club allocations through student senate.
Schedules and manages the Intramural Field and the Crum Lacrosse and Sports Field. Develops opportunities for revenue generation through the Crum Lacrosse and Sports Field. Provides risk management oversight and maintenance planning of the fields.
Serves as the on-site Hilltop Sport Camp Director. Manages the camp schedule, camper registration process, risk, and equipment purchasing for camp. Recruits, trains, hires, develops, and assesses camp counselors for the program.
Contributes to department assessment initiatives, short and long-term goals, and other duties as assigned or needed.
Position requires occasional evening/weekend oversight of programs, staff management and staff training.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. A degree in Sport Management, Recreation Management or Higher Education is preferred.
A minimum of three years of experience is required. Experience working in Intramural sports program management is required. Youth camp and sport club experience is preferred. A two year graduate assistantship will be accepted in lieu of one year of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must have minimum First Aid training, CPR and AED instructor certifications or obtain upon hiring.
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Hunt Leadership Scholars Program, an SMU central scholarship program. The Associate Director will manage this distinctive scholars program in their entirety: from the scholars’ point of application to the University, through their graduation, and into their alumni experience. This Associate Director, housed in the Hegi Family Career Development Center, will also assume assigned career center related responsibilities as determined.

Recruits new scholars through collaboration with Office of Undergraduate Admission and growing program brands at a national level (includes pre-application recruitment and post-decision yield).
Advises and mentors current scholars during their tenure as undergraduate students. This includes annual check ins, students on probation, students undertaking new projects and other duties as assigned.
Collaborates with faculty advisors and strategic campus partners to effectively execute each program’s goals (i.e. admission, college and schools, advising, financial aid, study abroad, student affairs, intradepartmental collaborations, University committees).
Manages highly competitive application and review process to select new scholars.
Creatively grows and expands existing scholars program experiences based on University goals and priorities. Works with faculty advisors to each program to meet the distinct needs of the scholars.
Manages Hunt Scholars Program budget.
Develops new scholars programming in line with broader University goals and priorities.
Opportunity to teach EPL 3101, 3102 and 3302 to Hunt Leadership Scholars.
