Job Description

The Client Care Manager serves a vital role in meeting with and support students in their efforts to seek mental health resources. This position is critical to helping students remove obstacles to their education and helping them achieve their goals in transformative ways. They provide case management; clinical, and prevention services provided by our center; and demonstrate a commitment to promoting and enhancing an inclusive environment for all students. The Care Manager will provide a range of clinical, outreach, consultative, and programming services. Key responsibilities include:

• Provision of mental health services in individual and group formats.
• Provide crisis intervention and triage to students requesting mental health services at CATS as well as with ISU departments in the wake of an emergency situation
• Assist in continuity of care for students evaluated and/or admitted to emergency facilities and/or regional psychiatric hospitals; Facilitate scheduling of clients discharged from hospitals, when appropriate
• Collaborate/consult with ISU offices, committees, and staff as needed, e.g. Disability Services, Housing, Student Affairs staff, and other campus resources
• Assist students in the off-campus treatment referral process with guidance on issues such as insurance, transportation, selecting a therapist, and knowing what to expect from initial meetings; Advocate for students as appropriate in helping them access services; Assist in analyzing student insurance benefits, financial resources, and support systems as related to their ability to access community resources
• Active engagement in our prevention efforts including organizing and conducting prevention presentations

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field. Eligibility for licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW) or LPC/LCPC in the State of Idaho or related field within two years of start of employment.
• Strong clinical skills with adults
• Clinical case management experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to relate collegially and collaboratively with others
• Demonstrated interest, skills, and experience in providing culturally competent clinical services to a diverse (ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, etc.) client population
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a college or university counseling center or equivalent experience on a university campus
• Experience in presenting on mental health topics to diverse audiences
• Experience in providing crisis triage services
