Job Description

The Kennedy Center is the nation's busiest performing arts center, hosting approximately 2,000 performances each year for audiences numbering more than 2 million. Our media content extends the Center's mission to your screens with on-demand access to world class, diverse performing arts from our physical stages and beyond. 

We are seeking a part-time Live Performance Video Editor to join our in-house team.  Our media broadcast team films exceptional performances that are produced and presented to convey the live performance experience through digital media. We showcase a wide variety of world-class performers across genres such as Jazz, Classical, and Hip-Hop to name only a few. The candidate for this job will convey stories and emotions in these performances through multi-camera editing that will be shared with a global audience.

Key Qualifications 

  • Minimum 2 years of professional video editing experience
  • Experience operating and filming with both ENG and Cinema style cameras
  • Experience video editing musical performances
  • Music or performing arts background preferred
  • Multicam editing experience in Premiere Pro
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite 
  • Comfortability with a fast-paced post-production environment.

This position will be focused primarily on creating compelling and musical edits of our multi-camera performances. These performances range widely in both scale and genre. The Live Performance Editor will transform footage from two to sixteen camera productions into cohesive pieces that will be shared on social media, institutionally, and archivally. Candidates for this position will be able to gracefully interpret editorial feedback throughout the post-production process and quickly adapt to changes in this process as projects evolve. The Live Performance Editor can generate edits in an efficient and timely manner.
