Minimum Qualifications :
Is typically obtained through a combination of a Bachelor’s degree in school business operations, architecture, facilities planning, construction management, business administration, public administration or a related field and seven (7) years of technical professional and supervisory work experience in large scale full-service facilities, construction, maintenance or operations department, including experience with large-scale facilities planning and construction management experience. Experience specific to managing public education or other public agency construction, facilities, and/or maintenance operations programs in a richly diverse community is preferred.

The Director leads and manages all aspects of facility maintenance including oversight of the Electrical Department, Mechanical Department and Multi-Craft Department. This position manages approximately 100 district employed staff, dozens of contractors and an eight-figure annual budget. The position is responsible for the preparation of comprehensive preventative and corrective plans, staffing schedules, budgets, facility projects, contracts and staff, as well as supporting operational systems and procedures. The Director regularly coordinates with school based staff, district leadership, operational departments (such as Custodial, Warehouse, Construction, Planning and Real Estate, Security, Transportation, and more), state and local public agencies, labor partners, internal and external stakeholders and community members.
Competence in business and project management techniques, computer software and public processes is necessary. Incumbents exercise considerable professional judgment and make autonomous decisions affecting budgets, schedules and facility outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications :
Is typically obtained through a combination of a Bachelor’s degree in school business operations, architecture, facilities planning, construction management, business administration, public administration or a related field and seven (7) years of technical professional and supervisory work experience in large scale full-service facilities, construction, maintenance or operations department, including experience with large-scale facilities planning and construction management experience. Experience specific to managing public education or other public agency construction, facilities, and/or maintenance operations programs in a richly diverse community is preferred.
Designation as an NCEES Professional License Engineer or Structural Engineer will substitute for the education requirement and four (4) years of the required experience.
