How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Production Supervisor position in the Tubing Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 20-40 production employees.

Additionally, you will…
* Implement and assign work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and equipment
* Defines expected production standards and monitors performance standards of assigned personnel
* Observe assigned personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned equipment
* Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance are occurring to produce high quality products
* Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvement
* Administer and support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
* Train new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures

What it takes

Required Qualifications
* An Associate’s degree
* Three (3) years of related work experience
* Two (2) years of supervisory experience
* An Associate’s degree
* The ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and job orders
* Strong leadership, problem solving, planning, communication, and motivational skills
* Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
* The ability to drive a forklift
* Knowledge of environmental safety and EEO requirements
* Knowledge of the material, costs, techniques and processes used within the area
* Judgment and decision making skills while comparing relative cost and benefit potential
* Deductive reasoning ability to formulate answers to specific questions that make sense
* The ability to motivate, develop and direct people; identify the best person for each task at hand
* Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
* A Bachelor’s degree
* Five (5) years of related work experience
* Professional work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methodology and tools
* Knowledge of management principles for strategic planning and resource allocation.
