Serves as spokesperson and public information officer, providing on-camera support to the Supervisor of Elections when responsibilities are delegated, while maintaining relationships with local and statewide media. Selects new and or alternate registration sites for County-wide registration through contacts with schools, businesses, and other organizations. Liaises with businesses, other governmental entities, citizens, and other Outreach representatives. Supervises and manages the internship program for the Supervisor of Elections Office, with separate internship opportunities during the spring, fall, and summer, providing internships for five to ten students each year. Manages the Supervisor of Elections social media accounts, responsible for the continued expansion of reach among social media users in the community. Oversees the Supervisor of Elections’ website, working in conjunction with other staff members to ensure that information is being communicated accurately and in a visually appealing manner. Drafts press releases and emails to be released to the media and the general public. Creates and edits a monthly newsletter for the Supervisor of Elections Office. Conducts voter registration outreach and public programs by contacting various community agencies and enlisting their assistance in reaching groups with a history of low voter participation and the community at-large. Develops and implements programs to recruit voters; develops and implements programs designed to encourage those registered to vote. Coordinates the purchase of voter registration-related office and election supplies; ensures sufficient supplies are available and that all bills for supplies are paid. Maintains and coordinates all paperwork associated with the registration process, excluding permanent voter records. Develops and carries out biennial elections marketing campaign for federal election cycles. Creates semi-annual press kits, packets, brochures and training materials and disseminates in hard copy and electronically as required. Distributes quarterly newsletter to poll workers and interested public. Job Summary:
The Veterinary Technician Senior Manager is responsible for the direction and oversight of the team of Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) at The Marine Mammal Center’s main hospital located in Sausalito, California. As a member of the Hospital Operations Department leadership team, this role contributes to the overall direction, strategy, and operational excellence of the hospital. They provide oversight and direction for the daily operations of the RVT team in support of veterinary and husbandry needs of the patients in care. This position serves as manager and mentor of the RVT team, fostering professional development, competency growth, and a collaborative team environment while ensuring adherence to best practices in marine mammal medicine. The Veterinary Technician Senior Manager works collaboratively to ensure integration between clinical and animal husbandry functions, supporting alignment with organizational practices in marine mammal medicine, research activities, and Teaching Hospital program initiatives to advance the Center’s mission and strategic priorities.
Essential Functions:
Leadership, Education, & People Management: 30%
Hire, train, mentor, and manage staff, ensuring individual and team development, alignment with goals, and adherence to policies and protocols.
Mentor and provide for professional development of staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring the expansion of skillsets to maintain standards of care and encourage professional growth.
Provide coaching to strengthen internal communications within the team and across departments, creating a positive, supportive, and team-oriented work environment.
Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; perform personnel actions such as approving timesheets and evaluating performance.
Provide mentorship, instruction, and supervision to participants in the Center’s Teaching Hospital programs.

Manage and mentor the veterinary technician team, providing clear daily workflow direction and assigning assignments with clinical priorities.
Oversee the implementation of hospital operations policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with permits, regulatory guidance, and organizational standards.
Ensure proper documentation, data accuracy, and compliance with medical recordkeeping (RUBY database), controlled substance handling, and safety protocols.
Collaborate closely with the Hospital Operations leadership team to ensure smooth clinical operations.
Provide consultation and guidance to California-based satellite facilities, consulting with the attending veterinarian as needed, to provide medical orders over-the-phone.
Manage medical supply inventories and coordinate procurement within budget guidelines.
Ensure the accurate maintenance of controlled drugs and drug logs.
Ensure the Clinical Wiki (repository of clinical SOPs) is kept updated with current procedures.
Ensure the Center’s reference materials, training courses, and Learning Management System (LMS) content reflect current protocols and practices.
Technical Management: 30 %
Provide oversight and leadership in coordination of patient care activities, workflow management, and resource allocation to ensure clinical operations run at high efficiency.
Serve as a technical expert and problem-solve for complex clinical cases, ensuring adherence to established veterinary protocols.
Monitor patient progress and ensure timely communication of findings and treatment responses to veterinarians for review.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of methods and procedures; identify opportunities for improvement and review with appropriate staff; direct the implementation of improvements.
Perform and oversee advanced technical procedures under the direction of the attending veterinarian, including patient assessments, diagnostic testing, imaging, sample collection, anesthesia administration, surgical assistance, and euthanasia.
Oversee the execution of veterinary orders, ensuring adherence to established medical protocols, and leading the technician team in maintaining high standards of care and safety in all clinical operations.
Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, and that all personnel responsible for use of the equipment have the necessary training.
Ensure that the hospital areas are maintained and kept in compliance with the standards set by our regulating agencies.
Budget Management & Fundraising: 5%
Support the department’s budget development; track results to ensure alignment with key financial targets for expenses and/or revenue in collaboration with management; approve and monitor team expenditures.
Represent and promote the Center to donors, prospects, and partners as opportunities arise.

Qualifications and Experience:
This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a Veterinary Technology Program and 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume private practice or zoological setting and 3 years of people management.

This position operates in a professional office, laboratory, and hospital environment both indoors and outdoors with access to other parts of the facilities via outdoor pathways.

As a member of the Hospital Operations Department leadership team, this role contributes to the overall direction, strategy, and operational excellence of the hospital. They provide oversight and direction for the daily operations of the RVT team in support of veterinary and husbandry needs of the patients in care. This position serves as manager and mentor of the RVT team, fostering professional development, competency growth, and a collaborative team environment while ensuring adherence to best practices in marine mammal medicine. The Veterinary Technician Senior Manager works collaboratively to ensure integration between clinical and animal husbandry functions, supporting alignment with organizational practices in marine mammal medicine, research activities, and Teaching Hospital program initiatives to advance the Center’s mission and strategic priorities.
Essential Functions:
Leadership, Education, & People Management: 30%
Hire, train, mentor, and manage staff, ensuring individual and team development, alignment with goals, and adherence to policies and protocols.
Mentor and provide for professional development of staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring the expansion of skillsets to maintain standards of care and encourage professional growth.
Provide coaching to strengthen internal communications within the team and across departments, creating a positive, supportive, and team-oriented work environment.
Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; perform personnel actions such as approving timesheets and evaluating performance.
Provide mentorship, instruction, and supervision to participants in the Center’s Teaching Hospital programs.

Provide guidance, advice, and judgement determinations for medical-related questions from animal care volunteers.
Program Administration: 25%
Manage and mentor the veterinary technician team, providing clear daily workflow direction and assigning assignments with clinical priorities.
Oversee the implementation of hospital operations policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with permits, regulatory guidance, and organizational standards.
Ensure proper documentation, data accuracy, and compliance with medical recordkeeping (RUBY database), controlled substance handling, and safety protocols.
Collaborate closely with the Hospital Operations leadership team to ensure smooth clinical operations.
Provide consultation and guidance to California-based satellite facilities, consulting with the attending veterinarian as needed, to provide medical orders over-the-phone.
Manage medical supply inventories and coordinate procurement within budget guidelines.
Ensure the accurate maintenance of controlled drugs and drug logs.
Ensure the Clinical Wiki (repository of clinical SOPs) is kept updated with current procedures.
Ensure the Center’s reference materials, training courses, and Learning Management System (LMS) content reflect current protocols and practices.
Technical Management: 30 %
Provide oversight and leadership in coordination of patient care activities, workflow management, and resource allocation to ensure clinical operations run at high efficiency.
Serve as a technical expert and problem-solve for complex clinical cases, ensuring adherence to established veterinary protocols.
Monitor patient progress and ensure timely communication of findings and treatment responses to veterinarians for review.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of methods and procedures; identify opportunities for improvement and review with appropriate staff; direct the implementation of improvements.
Perform and oversee advanced technical procedures under the direction of the attending veterinarian, including patient assessments, diagnostic testing, imaging, sample collection, anesthesia administration, surgical assistance, and euthanasia.
Oversee the execution of veterinary orders, ensuring adherence to established medical protocols, and leading the technician team in maintaining high standards of care and safety in all clinical operations.
Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, and that all personnel responsible for use of the equipment have the necessary training.
Ensure that the hospital areas are maintained and kept in compliance with the standards set by our regulating agencies.
Budget Management & Fundraising: 5%
Support the department’s budget development; track results to ensure alignment with key financial targets for expenses and/or revenue in collaboration with management; approve and monitor team expenditures.
Represent and promote the Center to donors, prospects, and partners as opportunities arise.

Qualifications and Experience:
This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a Veterinary Technology Program and 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume private practice or zoological setting and 3 years of people management.

This position operates in a professional office, laboratory, and hospital environment both indoors and outdoors with access to other parts of the facilities via outdoor pathways.
Working in outdoor weather conditions and elements is expected.

Job Description The Accounts Payable function is embedded in the Accounting Operations area of the Finance Department of the Kennedy Center. It reports to the Director of Accounting Operations and serves the payables-related needs of buyers and employees across the Center. Additionally, the Accounts Payable function safeguards Center funds through compliance with relevant policies and completes important compliance tasks. The Accounts Payable function includes this role, an Accounts Payable Manager, two Accounts Payable Clerks, and temporary staff. The Accounts Payable department is a fast-paced, high-volume (between 100-200 payments a week), and complex work environment which settles non-payroll related liabilities on a weekly basis. The Accounts Payable function of the Kennedy Center supports incredibly talented staff with some of the most exciting initiatives of the Center, many of which find their way on stage. The Senior Accounting Manager, working closely with the Director, Accounting Operations, will primarily be responsible for the personnel, systems, and activities of the accounts payable function at the Kennedy Center. This position will also be expected to approve general journal entries prepared by Accounting Operations and Accounts Payable staff and prepare account reconciliations for payables-related general ledger accounts. The Senior Accounting Manager will work closely with the Accounts Payable staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, upkeep of open purchase orders, compliance with tax reporting requirements, and adherence to company policies involving accounts payable, company credit cards and employee reimbursements. The Senior Accounting Manager will assume responsibility for the maintenance of the systems used in association with the above business processes, including maintenance of departmental approval processes, trouble-shooting transactions with errors, and ensuring a high-level of customer service to buyers and vendors using the system. The Senior Accounting Manager will provide training and guidance to other operating departments in support of the decentralized purchase order and invoice entry system. Key Responsibilities Lead Accounts Payable: Oversee the day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month function of the Accounts Payable department ensuring a high-level of internal and external customer service, accurate and timely processing of payables-related transactions, and maintenance of systems in support of the function. The Senior Accounting Manager will set goals for the team to reduce processing errors and delays, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency. Accounts Payable Systems Administration: Assume responsibility for the accurate maintenance of the Center’s accounts payable related systems: procure to pay system, employee reimbursement system, and Center credit card program. As administrator, this position will oversee approval hierarchy setup and changes across all systems, be responsible for clearing support tickets associated with each program, ensure integration with Finance ERP system, and reporting. Other important maintenance tasks include: vendor onboarding and updates, open purchase orders, contract database management, process and policy documentation, and process improvement. The position will work with other persons in Information Technology in fulfillment of this important task. General Ledger Maintenance: Assume responsibility for the accurate maintenance of general and subsidiary accounts/ledgers for all payables-related accounts. Reconcile and report such information in keeping with monthly closing deadlines. These include accounts payable aging’s, payables-related clearing accounts, open purchase orders, and support of monthly bank account reconciliations performed by Accounting Operations staff. Oversight includes preparing/reviewing/posting journal entries; preparing/reviewing reconciliations; and ensuring all are done in a timely manner. Compliance Initiatives: Lead the Center’s compliance efforts related to the 1042 and 1099 reporting. This effort requires on-going maintenance in addition to annual reporting to the IRS. Assume responsibility for and delegation of payables-related information needed to file the Center’s annual Form 990 and related schedules. Oversee and delegate yearly project tasks for the annual audit including the preparation of financial statement schedules and foot notes. The projected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Job Description The Accounts Payable function is embedded in the Accounting Operations area of the Finance Department of the Kennedy Center. It reports to the Director of Accounting Operations and serves the payables-related needs of buyers and employees across the Center. Additionally, the Accounts Payable function safeguards Center funds through compliance with relevant policies and completes important compliance tasks. The Accounts Payable function includes this role, an Accounts Payable Manager, two Accounts Payable Clerks, and temporary staff. The Accounts Payable department is a fast-paced, high-volume (between 100-200 payments a week), and complex work environment which settles non-payroll related liabilities on a weekly basis. The Accounts Payable function of the Kennedy Center supports incredibly talented staff with some of the most exciting initiatives of the Center, many of which find their way on stage. The Senior Accounting Manager, working closely with the Director, Accounting Operations, will primarily be responsible for the personnel, systems, and activities of the accounts payable function at the Kennedy Center. This position will also be expected to approve general journal entries prepared by Accounting Operations and Accounts Payable staff and prepare account reconciliations for payables-related general ledger accounts. The Senior Accounting Manager will work closely with the Accounts Payable staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, upkeep of open purchase orders, compliance with tax reporting requirements, and adherence to company policies involving accounts payable, company credit cards and employee reimbursements. The Senior Accounting Manager will assume responsibility for the maintenance of the systems used in association with the above business processes, including maintenance of departmental approval processes, trouble-shooting transactions with errors, and ensuring a high-level of customer service to buyers and vendors using the system. The Senior Accounting Manager will provide training and guidance to other operating departments in support of the decentralized purchase order and invoice entry system. Key Responsibilities Lead Accounts Payable: Oversee the day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month function of the Accounts Payable department ensuring a high-level of internal and external customer service, accurate and timely processing of payables-related transactions, and maintenance of systems in support of the function. The Senior Accounting Manager will set goals for the team to reduce processing errors and delays, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency. Accounts Payable Systems Administration: Assume responsibility for the accurate maintenance of the Center’s accounts payable related systems: procure to pay system, employee reimbursement system, and Center credit card program. As administrator, this position will oversee approval hierarchy setup and changes across all systems, be responsible for clearing support tickets associated with each program, ensure integration with Finance ERP system, and reporting. Other important maintenance tasks include: vendor onboarding and updates, open purchase orders, contract database management, process and policy documentation, and process improvement. The position will work with other persons in Information Technology in fulfillment of this important task. General Ledger Maintenance: Assume responsibility for the accurate maintenance of general and subsidiary accounts/ledgers for all payables-related accounts. Reconcile and report such information in keeping with monthly closing deadlines. These include accounts payable aging’s, payables-related clearing accounts, open purchase orders, and support of monthly bank account reconciliations performed by Accounting Operations staff. Oversight includes preparing/reviewing/posting journal entries; preparing/reviewing reconciliations; and ensuring all are done in a timely manner. Compliance Initiatives: Lead the Center’s compliance efforts related to the 1042 and 1099 reporting. This effort requires on-going maintenance in addition to annual reporting to the IRS. Assume responsibility for and delegation of payables-related information needed to file the Center’s annual Form 990 and related schedules. Oversee and delegate yearly project tasks for the annual audit including the preparation of financial statement schedules and foot notes. Prepare regulatory and compliance documents including, but not limited to, the form 990 schedules, BEA Analysis, Cultural Data Project. Training and Organization-wide support: Provide training and guidance to support a decentralized purchase order and invoice entry process both as part of a transition to a new procure-to-pay (P2P) system and then ongoing as a subject matter expert. Other : (a) Act as back-up and provide periodic coverage for the Accounts Payable supervisor and the Director, Accounting Operations (b) Suggest improvements in processes to increase effectiveness and compliance as well as assist with any procedural changes as they arise; (c) Special Projects and other duties as assigned; (d) Maintain accurate process documentation; and (e) Manage records retention process for accounting files. Other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA certification is a strong asset. Experience Requirements 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on accounts payable. 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, overseeing AP teams or accounting operations. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct) and expense management platforms like Concur. Prior involvement in audit preparation, compliance reporting, and financial statement support. Technical Accounting & Compliance Deep understanding of GAAP and internal controls related to payables. Knowledge of IRS reporting requirements (Forms 1099, 1042, 990). Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes. Systems & Process Management Proficiency in accounts payable automation tools and workflow management systems. Ability to troubleshoot system errors, maintain approval hierarchies, and support ERP transitions. Familiarity with vendor management, purchase order systems, and credit card reconciliation. Leadership & Communication Strong team leadership and staff development skills. Ability to train cross-functional teams on decentralized invoice and PO processes.
