We are seeking experienced candidates with a good blend of Benefits Administration and Wellness Program Administration experience to fill a Senior Management Analyst (SMA) position in Valley Water's Human Resources Division and Total Rewards & Data Analytics unit. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of relevant experience in HR and will be well-versed in all things Benefits and Wellness. The SMA will play an integral part in keeping the various programs running smoothly and efficiently.

Reporting to the Benefits and Wellness Program Administrator, the SMA will coordinate the “Valley Water WELL” wellness program and support the Benefits program as a whole. For the Wellness function, responsibilities will include leading the wellness program; liaising with the benefits broker and vendors; coordinating program activities; monitoring program participation and performance measures; developing program communications; responding to questions and concerns regarding the wellness program; and evaluating the program's success by reviewing health carrier utilization data, participant satisfaction, and employee health indicators. For the Benefits function, responsibilities include conducting new hire orientations and exit meetings; providing retirement counseling; working within the HRIS and processing benefit transactions; assisting with leave of absence, annual open enrollment, Medicare enrollment, benefit plan renewals; and providing customer service and supporting the benefits hotline.

Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

• Lead on Valley Water-wide wellness program, including coordinating on-site and virtual wellness program offerings, the annual wellness program launch event, wellness fair, and lunchtime wellness seminars.
• Quarterly/Annual monitoring and reporting of program participation and effectiveness.
• Valley Water liaison with vendors, benefits broker, Wellness Committee, and executive leadership.
• Draft wellness communications and respond to employee questions/concerns.
• Conduct new hire orientations and exit meetings.
• Assistance with administering Valley Water-wide benefit programs.
• Assistance with leave of absence administration.
• Assistance with open enrollment, benefit plan renewals, and customer service.

Ideal Experience:

• Five (5) years or more of experience performing administrative, operational, or management of complex issues related to Human Resources with increasing responsibility.
• Ideal experience will include supporting wellness initiatives and programs, specifically branding a wellness program and engaging remote workforce in wellness initiatives, as well as experience with employee benefits administration (healthcare renewals, comprehending benefit plan designs, personal file maintenance, processing HR transactions, etc.)
• Experience using data to report on metrics and making recommendations to improve programs.
• Experience leading employee orientations and guiding a wellness committee.
• HRIS experience, including processing of various transactions and events (data entry for new hires, terms), creating and generating ad hoc reports and queries.
• Extensive experience using all Microsoft Office Programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Knowledge of employment-related labor laws and regulations.
• Employee benefits principles including benefits renewal process, open enrollment process, I-9 compliance, and personnel file/record retention requirements.

Ideal Training and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field.
• An advanced degree is a plus.
• Continual attendance at seminars covering HR labor laws, compliance updates, and regulatory training.
• HR Certification is a plus.

Total Rewards and Data Analytics Unit (Position Code 923)COVID-19 vaccination requirement:

Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite.
