The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach online courses in Data Science. We are seeking outstanding instructors who can teach small sections in our web-based Master's in Information and Data Science program. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. Candidates selected for our Data Science Lecturer position typically teach classes that primarily enroll graduate students in our online MIDS program, which trains data scientists to use the latest tools and analytical methods to work with data at scale, derive insights from complex and unstructured data, and solve real-world problems. Successful instructors in our program are dynamic, enthusiastic information scholars and professionals who encourage both real-world applications and deeper theoretical discussions of contemporary and historical issues in information and data science.
Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities include planning and leading online classes that focus on active learning: discussions, group activities, examples, and walkthroughs relevant to concepts covered in existing asynchronous materials associated with the course.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include: hold office hours, assign grades, advise students on online course tools, prepare course materials (e.g., syllabus, assessment materials), provide clear and prompt feedback on student work, and maintain the course website. Lecturers are also expected to attend bi-weekly course team meetings with other instructors of the course, and are encouraged to attend monthly faculty meetings.

Position Summary: The Department of Theater and Performance Studies is seeking a Production Manager. The Production Manager will work under the general supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations. The Production Manager will collaborate with faculty, lecturers, visiting artists, students, and staff to produce six full productions per academic year and a number of other events in three buildings. Additionally, the Production Manager will liaise with the larger Stanford community in regards to the use of TAPS spaces and facilities. CORE DUTIES:
Serve as project manager of multiple activities; scope out project tasks/team assignments and guide team to create work plans and schedules, monitor progress, and meet milestones.
Oversee the management of event teams and/or production consultants to produce quality, multi‐faceted events and productions.
Take responsibility for the production of three Main Stage and three Developmental Series productions per academic year.
Support students in capstone projects and voluntary student organization projects, and support faculty in end-of-quarter performances and other single evening events.
Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external university partners.
Act as department representative at cross‐departmental project meetings.
Operate as account manager on deliverables, program metrics, and status reports.
Work cross‐departmentally to prepare and manage complex program budgets.
Recommend and schedule events into appropriate off‐campus and on‐campus venues.
Oversee registration strategy and logistics.
May hire and oversee support staff, students, and contingent event staff.
Train and supervise junior event planners in proper execution and implementation of events.

The Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation expands the role of design in undergraduate and masters level engineering education at the University of California, Berkeley. The Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) located in the School of Public Health at the University of Nevada invites applications for two full-time Lecturer II / Teaching Assistant Professor / Teaching Associate Professor position (9-months, non-tenure track). These positions will be part of the instructional staff for the School of Public Health and CASAT. These positions will focus on substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support services and are slated to begin July 1, 2023.
These positions’ primary duties will be to instruct courses at the undergraduate and master’s levels. The successful candidates will demonstrate effective teaching in large lecture courses, smaller upper-level courses, and internship/practicum courses. The expected load per semester is four courses which will primarily be in-person although online courses may be taught as well. Topics for the courses include: overview of prevention, treatment and recovery regarding substance and alcohol use, signs and symptoms, prevention strategies, assessment and diagnosis, counseling and treatment interventions, ethics and professional standards, and case management/treatment record-keeping requirements.
