Job Description


This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, CIOO, HQ of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation providing expertise in enterprise data, cloud data management and analytics, and artificial intelligence/ machine learning (AI/ML).

  • Provides expertise in enterprise data, cloud data management and analytics, and artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/ML). Focus areas include enterprise data governance, enterprise data architecture, enterprise data management, enterprise data analytics, cloud data architecture, artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/ML) and data-related security and privacy policy and compliance.
  • Responsible for developing strategies, governance, architectures, and technologies that support modern, cloud-based, foundational, data management and data analytic, and artificial intelligence & machine learning (AI/ML) capabilities and ensures a holistic, enterprise approach is taken that enables the FDIC and IT organization to become more agile, innovative, and responsive to business needs.
  • Work collaboratively with FDIC business and IT stakeholders across the corporation in developing holistic, effective and responsive data-related strategies, architectures, data ecosystems and technologies to meet the corporations current and future business objectives and creating a culture where FDIC’s data becomes an enterprise-level resource.
  • Supports investment preparation and decision-making process, advocating for investments that are material to data strategy and business objective achievement. As required, creates business case, total cost of ownership (TCO) for new, modern, cloud-based data-related initiatives and programs.
  • Leads integrated project teams (IPT's) to analyze business and technology trends and strategies to ensure data strategies and architecture remains relevant to business needs; address strategic initiatives; and address material gaps in the target data architecture.

This position is eligible for up to 100% telework based on location and management's discretion.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience developing data strategies, developing enterprise data governance technologies and processes, developing modern cloud-based data architectures, and developing security and privacy policy data-related compliance solutions.

You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

The range of pay shown includes base pay plus supplemental locality adjustments. The locality rates for these duty locations range from a low of 6.68% to a high of 47.85%.
