The Data Engineer serves as part of the Information Governance team enabling data for products, platforms reporting and analytical needs.  We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team to deliver quality, reliability and efficiency of the master, reference, and metadata across multiple systems to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using techniques and create dashboards and reports.
  • Acquire data from different database types and structure to analyze data.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets.

 

  • Develop probabilistic algorithms and techniques to automatically categorize, classify and tag data.
  • Develop techniques to scan, discover and identify data inconsistencies, gaps, patterns, anomalies paired to outcome driven use cases.
  • Determine opportunities for data cleansing, standardization and conformance of data into usable information for product owners, data scientists and data analyst to enhance or grow products.
  • Determine opportunities and work with Architecture and DevOps teams to implement master data, reference data and data quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, architects and analysts on product and platform development needs.
  • Implement machine learning methods and predictive modeling to improve data confidence and quality.
  • Develop and test logical data architectures that improve physical architecture build, data flow, and quality using prescriptive and predictive techniques and modeling.

 

  • Develop a visual data heatmap (domain/categorical views) against the systems and application that source, transform and publish the data.
  • Develop a visual data heatmap (critical data elements) against the systems and applications that has highest value impact.
  • Establish a method and visualizations to measure and monitor data health, hygiene and usefulness (active, stale, governed, non-governed, etc.)

 

Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar degree.
  • 5+ years of work experience in conjunction with bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated experience with data architecture and platforms: ODS, DW/Mart & Big Data and Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience in programming languages such as PL/SQL, XML, Python, R, Excel and understanding machine learning and algorithms.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, organize, analyze and categorize data.

 

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Data engineering certification
  • Agile and Scrum experience
  • Data Governance experience
