We now recognize that historical and persistent systemic inequity, especially institutionalized racism, is a root cause of poverty and hunger, and as such, we acknowledge that it is core to achieving our mission that we create a more equitable and inclusive environment for our staff, our community partners and people experiencing hunger.

Who We're Looking For
Food Lifeline seeks a highly skilled, collaborative, dynamic, and mission-driven Director of Equity and Inclusion to join our team. As the director, you will help lead the development of Food Lifeline’s equity plans and will guide the organization through putting those plans into action. This role will help level-up our internal capacity to provide culturally-relevant services to clients we serve. This will be accomplished in part by project-managing and supporting our Equity Initiative and our Equity Plan tasks; evaluating current practices and procedures and recommending new approaches that support our equity goals; advising internal teams; providing trainings; supporting the development of an equity lens and helping us consistently apply it to our decisions; and strengthening relationships with communities of color and other social service organizations.

Who Are You?
• You understand systemic inequity, especially institutionalized racism, as a root cause of poverty and hunger.
• You have experience leading and project managing equity initiatives and while you work well independently, you believe in the power of participatory decision-making
• You have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and you are a positive influencer
• You are motivated and courageous and can nudge and challenge staff and leaders to seek multiple perspectives and check assumptions
