Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Benefits leads the strategy, design, administration and communications of all of Valmont’s U.S. benefit programs. In addition, is instrumental in developing the plan for oversight of the Company’s international benefit programs. The Director of Benefits partners with senior leaders to share trends, risks and recommendations for benefit choices. Serves as the internal functional expert on the Company’s Human Resources Leadership Team to deliver business-driven human resources initiatives that attract and retain talent in the company, enhance organizational capability and fosters employee engagement. This person’s leadership skills are critical to the coaching and development of the benefits team at Valmont.

Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or other related discipline
* Ten years of benefits administration experience, preferably in a large company with multiple geographies, including experience in the design and administration of self-insured health & weldfare plans, wellness, 401(k), NQDC, disability, and leave and time off plans
* Five years of benefits management and supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
* Demonstrated past successful development and execution of a long term strategy for benefits programs
* Experience successfully leading and driving change
* Experience in leading and managing a benefits committee including senior executives
* Strong understanding and current experience in the design and administration of required benefit compliance activities including ACA, HIPAA, SPDs, tax filing requirements, 401(k) fee disclosures, etc.
* Proven success in effective vendor selection and management
* Strong business acumen, financial analysis capabilities and global mindset
* Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills and a marketing mindset
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HRIS background
* Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving competencies including basic lean knowledge with a strong customer service orientation
* Excellent interpersonal, consultative and influencing skills
* Proven record working successfully with key stakeholder groups including Legal, Finance, Payroll and Procurement in a matrix / shared services organization
* Some travel required - <15%

Desired / Preferred Qualifications:
* International benefits experience
* Broad total rewards experience including compensation experience
* Manufacturing industry experience
* Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business and/or CEBS certification
