The Fall 2024 SEC Scholars Legal Program will tentatively begin on the following dates:
8/26/2024- 11/01/2024 9/09/2024- 11/15/2024
Law students will be assigned to work with SEC staff members on projects and assignments that cover a broad range of the Commission's work. Intern assignments range from supporting litigation to assisting with drafting new regulations to helping with reviews, exams or public outreach. For information about the opportunities and the work that interns do in specific division/offices within headquarters, please read the SEC's website . The SEC Scholars Legal Program will be full-time or part-time during the Fall. Work schedule will be determined and agreed upon based on the selectees academic course load schedule and division/office needs. You will have the opportunity to discuss schedule, hours, etc. upon selection and acceptance into the program. Students must work a minimum of 16 hours per week.
The following divisions and offices within our Headquarters offices are seeking JD/LL.M. students to volunteer with us during the Fall 2024 program. You will be asked to rank your top three choices of office. You will be given priority consideration of these offices but may be contacted by any of them. You must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a JD or LL.M. at an accredited law school on at least a half-time basis (as determined by the educational institution); AND You must possess a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
You must continue to meet these eligibility requirements throughout the duration of your volunteer service under the SEC Scholars Legal Program. All eligibility requirements must be met by the selection date. Individuals with disabilities and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. Education
You will be required toprovide transcripts or other documentation to support your educational claims. Documentation may be submitted at the time of application. All materials will be required upon selection.

Business students will be assigned to work with SEC staff members on projects and assignments that cover a broad range of the Commissions' work. That work depends upon the division or office where the student works. Business intern assignments range from supporting securities regulations to assisting in professional administrative duties such as human resources, contracting, auditing, etc. For information about the opportunities and the work that interns do in specific division/offices within headquarters, please read the SEC's website . SEC Scholars Business students will be assigned to work with SEC staff members on projects and assignments that cover a broad range of the Commissions' work. Executive Director for Risk Management and People Services
Job Summary The Executive Director for Risk Management and People Services is responsible for working closely with institutional leaders, including the Board of Trustees, the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Chairs and department heads, to assess and mitigate risks and to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations impacting the university. This position works closely with the President and external university counsel on a variety of projects and assists in providing internal management of an institutional response to legal matters. The Department of People Services (commonly called “Human Resources”) also reports to this position (approximately 7 staff members). The Executive Director for Risk Management and People Services has broad leadership responsibilities and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, called the Executive Leadership Committee (ELC) and supports the Board of Trustees as needed. As a member of the President's Cabinet, they contribute to strategic decision-making and align institutional practices with restorative justice, risk management, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) best practices, promoting an inclusive and accountable university community.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Risk Management
•Oversee the creation and revision of university administrative policies and procedures in conjunction with institutional stakeholders, responsible for the overall development and implementation of effective university policies. •Assures that all university policies and procedures directly align and conform to local, state, and federal laws and regulations (including but not limited to Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act, US Department of Education and Colorado State Division of Higher Education rules) and that university policies are not contradictory nor in conflict. •Establish open lines of communication and collaboration with administrative departments to improve policies, procedures, and departmental operating procedures. Takes a collaborative approach, encouraging dialogue, active listening, and shared decision-making, fostering a sense of ownership and buy-in from all stakeholders. •Provide support to faculty in the interpretation of academic policies and procedures, ensuring that their input is valued and considered. •Identify areas of risk and gaps between practice and policy/regulations and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective measures. The Clackamas County Clerk's Office Elections Division seeks an experienced election professional to join our team as the county's Elections Manager. Under the general direction of the County Clerk, the Elections Manager plans, organizes, manages, and conducts all elections (federal, state, and local) for Clackamas County residents; ensures elections procedures and voter registration records comply with statutory requirements; and are conducted in an accurate, transparent, efficient, timely, and accessible manner. The selected candidate will manage each election using project management practices, follow all federal, state, and local laws and rules and incorporate available technology and best practices. This position maintains voter registration records, candidate filing, district and precinct boundaries, and vote-by-mail processes. Additionally, the Elections Manager directly supervises division staff; four permanent and up to 100 temporary employees. The Elections Manager also prepares, administers, and monitors the annual budget for the Elections Division. The Elections Manager works closely with other county departments, Oregon's Secretary of State Elections Division, third-party vendors, local jurisdictions, candidates and elected officials, media members, political parties, and voters.
