About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Director of Pharmacy leads pharmaceutical services at the student health center, ensuring high-quality care in collaboration with clinic providers. This role oversees medication dispensing, patient education, inventory management, and pharmacy operations while supervising staff and maintaining regulatory compliance. The Director is committed to exceptional customer service, revenue goals, and enhancing services to meet student needs.
Essential Functions:
Pharmaceutical Care Delivery: Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions, reviewing orders for safety, efficacy, appropriateness, and accuracy. Counsel patients and consult with prescribers on medication selection, dosages, interactions, and side effects, offering therapeutic recommendations as needed. Provide drug information and patient education, ensuring safe/effective use of medications. Manage the point-of-sale system for medications and OTC products; maintain a small retail area stocked with health, beauty, and food items.
Inventory Control and Compliance: Maintain an efficient inventory system, conducting biannual manual counts of medications and supplies. Order and stock pharmaceuticals, OTC products, merchandise, and supplies to meet demand. Keep detailed, compliant records of prescriptions, drug inventory, narcotics, and controlled substances as required by federal and state regulations. Monitor patient drug therapy, collaborating with medical staff to promote cost-effective and appropriate pharmaceutical use. Oversee ongoing inventory-related accounting and reporting.
Pharmacy Team Support and Oversight: Manage pharmacy operations, including pricing, data analysis, and development of policies and procedures. Direct daily workflows, supervise pharmacy support staff, and oversee pharmacy technicians’ performance. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and annual performance evaluations for staff; conduct in-service training as needed. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, maintaining all required licenses and vendor agreements. Perform continuous quality assurance and maintain pharmacy security. Identify and propose opportunities for new or expanded services to enhance pharmacy offerings.
Strategic and Support Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned, including implementing new technologies and applications to streamline processes, boost efficiency, and modernize pharmacy operations to meet student needs and expectations. Provide information on student insurance and process payments. Communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Serve on the Health Center Directors' governing body.
Routine evening hours are required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school is required. A Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred.
Seven (7) years of experience as a licensed pharmacist and ability to assume administrative responsibilities for the Pharmacy is required; two (2) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role in pharmacy is also required. A current Texas pharmacy license in good standing is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Candidate knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements is required.
Candidate ability to work well with patients, pharmacists, physicians and other co-workers is essential.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean of Students, the Slug Support Case Manager serves as the nexus of information and integration for the campus's response to students experiencing varying degrees of need and / or distress. The incumbent is readily accessible to faculty, staff, students, parents and family members who are concerned about a distressed student. The Slug Support Case Manager works closely with key offices to identify and intervene as early as possible with students whose behavior suggests the need for support services. Duties include providing information and training for the campus community; fielding calls, emails and referrals regarding, coordinating responses and services for individual students, undertaking research on national best practices, participating on various "students of concern" committees, and working directly with students to help resolve complex situations and advocate on their behalf. The Slug Support Case Manager will also support the activities, programs and services associated with the functions of the Dean of Students office.

70% - Student Advocacy and Coordination of Responses to Students in Distress
• Provides administrative interface, coordinating with various campus partners to ensure coherent integration of campus and community resources for individual students who have challenges with academic, health, conduct, substance abuse, financial and social issues. Manages students of concern cases that require the undertaking initial information gathering, developing recommendations for response, taking the initiative to mobilize appropriate responses and / or services, and provides information to the student, student's family as appropriate and conveys information to other units including Counseling and Psychological Services, the Colleges, Residential Services, Campus Police, and other campus entities, ensuring that appropriate resources are available and post-intervention strategies are mobilized on behalf of the student and the campus community.
20% - Distress Student Consultation
• In consultation and collaboration with various campus colleagues, serves as a single point of contact campus wide for members of the campus community, parents and families, who are concerned about a student. The incumbent will consult about a student, provide referrals to campus departments and to the colleges, develop action plans, and follow up with students, staff and faculty as appropriate. The incumbent will also be an active member of the UC System Wide Case Management Team. Responds to inquiries about distressed students from faculty, staff, students and parents. Provides information and resources and/or referrals to appropriate campus services; may activate the Slug Support team for high level and high risk incidents.
5% - Education
• Works with a broad cross section of campus departments (e.g., Orientation Programs, Wellness Programs, Disability Resource Centers, Resource Centers, Counseling and Psychological Services, the Colleges, Residential Services, Student Organization Advising and Resources) to develop and implement marketing campaigns for the campus's student mental health messages and information, with particular attention to educating students on their role in the well-being of fellow students.
5% - Outreach
• Works collaboratively with CAPS and other campus units and departments on the provision of campus-wide training and programs as well as publications regarding responding to students in distress. Develops and delivers specialized curriculum and training programs as requested by campus departments regarding responding to students in distress, and educational workshops about Dean of Students services and programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
Our PCTs care for multiple patients.
Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

Some details about this position:
No Dialysis experience is required.
Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic
Potential to float to various clinics during and after your training
You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
What you can expect:
Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
Our PCTs care for multiple patients.
Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
