PAY AND BENEFITS

Annual Pay Range: $47,617.50 - $59,925.25

Hourly Pay Range: $22.893027 - $28.810215

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

Generous paid time off package, including:
  • 12 hours of vacation accrued per month

We are searching for a motivated and customer-focused individual with strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills for our Justice Court Clerk 1 role in Clackamas County Justice Court. If selected for this position, you will focus on responsibilities associated with the case processing and adjudication of criminal/traffic/violations heard through the Justice Court pursuant to the violations' bureau order. Additionally, you will be involved in performing limited and routine violation trial tasks, civil case tasks and finance processes.

Our goal is to provide the highest level of value and service to the community of Clackamas County. To that end, we are searching for an individual that will meet the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics while on the job, and also will maintain those same high standards when taking actions in their personal life that could reflect on the Department.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience providing clerical support, including data entry, reception and document processing
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing customer service over the phone and in person
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience entering and retrieving data
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with sensitive and confidential information
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with Microsoft Word

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with sensitive and confidential information
  • Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) Certification
  • Experience using Oregon eCourt Case Information (OECI), ClassWeb systems and/or Court-specific software, such as Tyler Incode or other court software
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Pre-employment Requirements:
  • Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
  • Must pass a criminal history check, which may include national or state fingerprint records check
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or an acceptable alternative method of transportation. WORK SCHEDULE

This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

Please Note: This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Justice Court is directed by an elected Justice of the Peace and has jurisdiction over all violations including traffic. The Justice Court receives citations from Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, the Oregon State Police, and local police agencies citing outside incorporated cities within Clackamas County. Justice Court has jurisdiction over civil cases to $10,000 including Forcible Entry and Unlawful Detainer (FED evictions) and Small Claims.
