Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Coordinator, Victim Services.
The Coordinator, Victim Services primary focus is to assist crime victims and witnesses with immediate needs for basic life care, such as medical, housing, food, clothing and counseling, offering a wide variety of information such as basic legal procedures, community resources and safety planning and conduct presentations on personal safety awareness. Recipients of this assistance include students, faculty and staff of the Nevada System of Higher Education institutions supported by the University Police Department-Northern Command, as well as community members who may be in need of victim services.
Required Qualifications
High School and four (4) years of related work experience; OR
Associate’s Degree and (3) years of related work experience; OR
Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR
Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
Related Experience: Working in victim advocacy, crisis intervention.
Additional Requirements
The person hired into this position will be required to house and care for a facility dog, that will be an essential tool when working with victims. Food, veterinary and other associated costs will be paid for by the department or related.
