Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as experience providing in-depth enterprise architecture analysis of technical architecture and information management standards encompassing hardware, software design, programming (coding), and testing. This includes architecture analysis of data structures, interfaces, protocols, practices, technology advances, user needs, networking topologies, and cloud services (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, etc.).
