Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Mailing and Printing Services Supervisor, the position will receive and and distribute incoming mail, and process outgoing mail. The Mail-Print Assistant will also assist in processing in-house printing jobs and direct student employees on the operation of copy, mail and print equipment.

Representative Duties:
  • Assist departments and individuals by providing technical information concerning requested services. E
  • Assist departments in the analysis of cost-effective mailing options. E
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and packages. E
  • Train, assign, supervise and evaluate assigned student employees and volunteers. E
  • Oversee and provide liaison with private delivery services (UPS, FED Express, etc.) E
  • Maintain and control stamp stock and petty cash. E
  • Weigh and determine appropriate class and postage for outgoing mail and packages. E
  • Ensure mail is distributed to campus mail stops as required in campus mail distribution plan. E
  • Operate a variety of mailing and printing equipment, such as postage machine, computer terminal, electronic printing machines, copy machines, scales. E
  • Drive vehicle to conduct work. E
  • Make required deliveries to our off site Campuses. E.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

E = Essential Duties

Knowledge Of:
  • Proper use and maintenance of related printing equipment
  • Mailing-Printing center operations, including bulk mail.
  • US Postal Service regulations
  • University mission, operations, and policies.


Ability To:
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Maintain standards of performance, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Plan, organize work, meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Work independently and take initiative


Minimum Qualifications:
Any Combination equivalent to: One year of college level course work and one year of experience in mailing center operations or one year of printing operations.
