Job Description

The successful Business Development Strategist will collaborate with advertising partners to determine the most appropriate options to market their brands with Healio Strategic Solutions based on their goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • Build and manage a pipeline of partners and generate sales opportunities
  • Sell advertising to existing and prospective customers.  Advertising products include but are not limited to print, digital, programmatic, podcast and sponsored content.
  • Autonomously manage personal sales pipeline
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
  • Prospect for new business through competitive analysis, phone, e-mail and face-to-face sales meetings
  • Maintain and grow existing business through extensive market research, practiced sales skills, timely and effective follow up and a strong work ethic
  • Travel to meet with existing and prospective clients
    • Meetings may occur at their place of business or other locations
    • Entertain clients through lunches, dinners, outings which could occur after normal business hours
    • Arrange lunch and learns and other events to provide education to our partners
    • Travel to conventions to meet with existing and prospective clients
  • Meet your sales objectives and goals
  • Accurately forecast revenue streams and swiftly communicate forecast changes to management
  • Work in Salesforce to track pipeline, revenue, and sales calls
  • Work in cooperation with the Editorial to identify challenges and explore improvements to our success as an organization and products
  • Work within designated budget and responsibly manage expense account
  • Provide timely communication with office and clients on updated changes
  • Always keep your Outlook calendar up to date
  • All other responsibilities assigned by your manager

Minimum Qualifications:   

  • Advertising sales or equivalent experience
  • BS/BA Degree
  • Must be comfortable presenting in front of a large group
  • Confident, outgoing individual who is polished and articulate
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities are needed
  • Effective organization and time management skills are mandatory
  • Excellent conversation skills are essential.

Extensive travel required, including, overnight and weekend travel. Necessary travel may fall over holidays or personal commitment dates. As an exempt employee compensation time/day are not awarded.  Professional business attire is often required.  Remote employees will be considered.
