Job Description

As our Strategic Project Manager, you will conduct highly complex analysis on a wide range of management, administrative, financial, asset management and other organizational issues; plan, manage and lead large-scale projects; advise City leadership on Citywide or bureau- specific issues, projects, or programs that have important organizational, policy, financial or community implications or consequences. Our team manages projects that make a difference such as guiding the once-a-decade Charter Commission, establishing the City’s Community Safety Division and developing workplace policies for the City's pandemic response. 


Housed in the Office of the Chief Administrator, this position is the project management unit of  the Strategic Projects and Opportunities Team. Team members collaborate with City Council and Commissioner Staff, bureau directors, managers, City staff and outside stakeholders on projects, programs and policies. Our projects generally impact large portions of the City's operations, staff or service delivery. The work is often highly politically sensitive, requiring significant independent judgment and discretion. Leading with Equity, our Strategic Project Managers are committed to advancing the City Core Values including Anti-Racism, Transparency, Collaboration, Communication and Fiscal Responsibility.
