IT Programmer/Analyst


Penn State Behrend is seeking applicants for a Programmer/Analyst to be an integral part of our Information Technology Team. The Programmer\Analyst for the Behrend Information Technology team is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing maintenance and support of the College's websites and servers. This position works closely with many Behrend offices in identifying needs and resolving issues. This position also supports many API integrations with university systems and tool development to meet the internal data needs of the IT team.


Responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to:


  • Analyzing functional and systems requirements
  • Developing application and database architecture and design
  • Writing code
  • Validating data acquisition and output media/formats
  • Designing user interfaces
  • Other duties as assigned.


The Applicant should possess good communication and teamwork skills and advanced programming skills. The position has the potential for remote work within the United States for up to one year before joining us on our scenic campus in Erie, Pa. Knowledge preferred but not required includes HTML, CSS, Drupal, JavaScript, AJAX, SQL, NoSQL, PHP, C#, PowerShell, Docker, GIT, and Linux. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher, plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
