The Associate Director, Communications and Public Affairs will play a critical role in developing and implementing a communications strategy for the Center to targeted healthcare stakeholders, aiming to make higher quality, more affordable healthcare a reality for all Americans.
The Associate Director will provide strategic communications guidance and execution for Center initiatives, ranging from state health policy to market driven solutions, from data transparency to new partnership development. They will work with Center staff to identify external education and advocacy opportunities, as well as outreach and audience development strategies to advance and support the impact of the Center’s programmatic work.
The Center operates as an independent organization alongside the Foundation, and works to influence markets, practitioners, and governments to bring more value to the US health system. While the Center and the Foundation have different audiences, impact for one means impact for all, which is why this position uniquely sits at the intersection of the two organizations. The Associate Director will report to the Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs for the Foundation and will have strong support from the Executive Director of the Center. Additionally, they will oversee one staff member and work closely with the broader communications team at the Foundation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Communications and Influence Strategies
o Assess and provide recommendations on high-value requests and opportunities.
o Assist in coordinating executive communications regarding such opportunities and preparing principals and staff on substantive and logistical details.
o Participate in a proactive process for seeking out high-value engagement opportunities.
