Essential Duties:   Plan and co-teach weekly EdTech classes using computer software, iPad apps, and STEAM-related experiences along with the other EdTech Specialist. Plan, support, and facilitate technology-rich curriculum in both the edtech lab and in homeroom classrooms. Introduce BCIL elements from the East Campus such as the speaker series to the West Campus In combination with BCIL, develop and implement a physical programming curriculum that introduces students to the basics of coding and robotics. Serve as a liaison with the BCIL Lower School Fabrication Innovator and Collaborator and other specialists and homeroom teachers. Work with homeroom teachers to enhance lessons through new uses of technology Work in coordination with BCIL Lower School Fabrication Innovator and CIC to implement innovation challenges that focus on inquiry-based learning Plan and co-lead professional development for faculty and staff with the other Ed Tech Specialist New teacher technology orientation workshops Training on network operating system, email, and school-wide systems Training on curriculum-related software Offering technology-related courses for faculty and staff to promote lifelong learning and develop technology competencies Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of online learning environments Write EdTech student reports. Plan and co-lead parent and student seminars and workshops in conjunction with the EdTech Specialist Engage and support students of varied identities, lifestyles, and beliefs Understand current technology practices both in and out of the classroom Create an environment that fosters open discussion with the freedom to express varied points of view Make recommendations to the Director of Technology involving the purchase of new hardware and software for faculty Implement the long-range technology plan in consultation with the and the Director of Educational Technology Engage in professional and personal development and commit to growth in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion Participate and initiate opportunities that demonstrate one's growth, knowledge, and skills Other duties as assigned or the school’s administrative team   Experience and Training: BA Degree required; Master’s Degree and student teaching and/or experience in a school environment is strongly preferred In addition, a candidate should possess the following skills and personal qualities: High degree of technical aptitude Ability to work accurately under the pressure of deadlines Excellent communication skills Strong collaboration and cross-cultural competency An interest in and openness to professional development Commitment to equity and inclusion A sense of humor, warmth of personality, and energy Flexibility While being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommended. Our salary range, of $72,000 to $120,000, includes all levels of experience. Salaries are determined based on years of experience, education, full- or part-time status, and number of months worked per school year. Leads Cadre through overarching instructional design for classroom and CONUS based practical exercises to include: sequencing, delivery method(s), lesson plans, rubrics, instructional materials, training aids and practical exercise(s) as well as performance evaluation systems to measure student learning. Works with servicing learning center to ensure courseware and associated documentation complies with regulatory and accreditation standards. Oversees and coordinates formal, Group-level training portfolio. Establishes and maintains working relationships with applicable Subject Matter Experts (SME), training providers and training coordinators. Routinely interacts with senior-level customers from Division to Office level. Plans and synchronizes course schedules and training events with external offices, training providers and other stakeholders. Manages the course registration process and ensures applicants meet course criterion. Updates student training records in customer databases to reflect credit for successful course completion.
