Job Description

This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, HQs of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is expected to lead operational Capacity Management Program and Problem Management Program.

Duties

  • Serves as Capacity Manager to ensure IOSB Infrastructure Platforms and Services including Operational Security systems to meet the system capacity demand from business and applications in supporting FDIC computing requirements and to protect FDIC data.
  • Develops and maintains enterprise infrastructure platform capacity plan to ensure IOSB delivers platform services within agreed capacity, performance targets and budget.  Provides direction and general guidance on the development of new and service levels for capacity management.
  • Serves as principal technical advisor on all matters involving system capacity and performance to include computing, storage, network systems, end-point security, devices and services on both on-premise infrastructure and Cloud.
  • Serves as Enterprise Problem Manager to manage major IT system incidents to ensure normal service operations are restores as quickly as possible and minimize adverse impact on the FDIC business.
  • Coordinate, standardize, and lead all ITIL problem management activities ensuring root cause and prevention is identified and reported to management.
  • Responsible for the FDIC End-of-Support program to ensure FDIC hardware and software are updated and upgraded within manufacturer support life cycle and security updates.  Coordinates with enterprise Security Vulnerability and Patch Management system to ensure products are updated with security patches as part of product life cycle management.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in designing, developing, integrating and operating IT infrastructure including Operational Security systems; and serving as a project manager/leader providing advisory support of such services and applications to the Operational areas.You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:
