Academy for Urban School Leadership

AUSL is a not-for-profit, school management organization that turnaround chronically underperforming schools within the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) network. We currently manage 19 schools [5 high schools (9-12), 14 elementary schools (PK-8)], and typically acquire 3 schools annually to turnaround from CPS.  The turnaround process is a complete transformation of the schools to establish a culture, climate and curriculum that will reduce the student achievement gap academically as well as socially with a standard of excellence.  Training and hiring quality teachers is the foundation of this mission and our Urban Teacher Residency Program (UTR).
