Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Senior Fund Manager and the indirect supervision of the Director of Finance, the Fund Manager manages the income and expenses for assigned cost centers. This includes monthly ledger review, monitoring of quarterly income and expense reports sent to financially complex departments, and implementation of financial protocol schedule in anticipation of fiscal close. The Fund Manager will ensure timely financial management of the School's accounts, invoices, contracts, and grants and monitor the application of accounting principles and activities. Additional major duties include ledger reconciliation, accounts payables, budget preparation, financial forecasting, and income and expense analysis. The incumbent has fiscal and operational responsibility over a portfolio of $2.0 million in extramural research funding, including federal, state, and private industry research awards. The Fund Manager will also work in collaboration with University central campus administrators, department managers, and staff, Law School administrators, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, as well as contract and grant officials at extramural funding agencies, to advance the financial needs of the School and navigate any exceptions to policy that may arise.

Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Senior Fund Manager and the indirect supervision of the Director of Finance, the Fund Manager manages the income and expenses for assigned cost centers. This includes monthly ledger review, monitoring of quarterly income and expense reports sent to financially complex departments, and implementation of financial protocol schedule in anticipation of fiscal close. The Fund Manager will ensure timely financial management of the School's accounts, invoices, contracts, and grants and monitor the application of accounting principles and activities. Additional major duties include ledger reconciliation, accounts payables, budget preparation, financial forecasting, and income and expense analysis. The incumbent has fiscal and operational responsibility over a portfolio of $2.0 million in extramural research funding, including federal, state, and private industry research awards. The Fund Manager will also work in collaboration with University central campus administrators, department managers, and staff, Law School administrators, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, as well as contract and grant officials at extramural funding agencies, to advance the financial needs of the School and navigate any exceptions to policy that may arise.

UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital Division of Pediatric Cardiology is seeking a Pediatric heart failure and transplantation physician. Applicants should have formal 4th year fellowship training in Pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathy, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support and must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. Current trainees are welcome to apply.
The Heart Transplant program at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital was established in 1984. We have grown to average ~12 transplants a year and 4-6 ventricular assist devices a year, in patients of all complexities, with great outcomes. We recently performed our programs 500th transplant. We currently follow greater than 100 post-transplant patients and a similar number of heart failure patients. The new faculty member will join the team as a junior transplant cardiologist working with our group of four academic specialized cardiologists (Dr. Leigh Reardon, Dr. Nancy Halnon, and Dr. Juan “Chuck” Alejos), two transplant coordinator/nurse practitioner and an extensive multidisciplinary team who serve our cardiomyopathy/ventricular device/ heart failure/transplant population. We have outreach clinics at several local hospitals. The UCLA Mattel Children's Heart Transplant/Heart Failure team also spearheads the single ventricle, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, muscular dystrophies and pulmonary hypertension programs. These programs are multidisciplinary including hepatologists, electrophysiologists, neuromuscular specialist and pulmonologists. We also benefit from the adult transplant programs and their vast experience. Our center participates in multiple research/collaborative databases as well as clinical research studies.
The UCLA Mattel Children's Heart Center serves a population of over 25 million in the heart of the USA. Our referral base locally extends over 4 counties. Annually, we perform over 300 cardiac surgeries (including hybrid procedures), over 600 cardiac catheterizations (including EP procedures), and 18,000 echocardiograms. We have a growing group of cardiologists covering all other subspecialties (EP, interventional, advanced imaging and fetal. We have a collaborative program with Children's Hospital Orange County with joint conferences and we are responsible for the care of their cardiomyopathy population.
The position also includes a faculty appointment at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In addition to heart failure/transplant care, applicants will also participate in general cardiology outpatient clinics, inpatient cardiology service, consults and occasional general cardiology call. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience.

UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital Division of Pediatric Cardiology is seeking a Pediatric heart failure and transplantation physician. Applicants should have formal 4th year fellowship training in Pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathy, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support and must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. Current trainees are welcome to apply.
The Heart Transplant program at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital was established in 1984. We have grown to average ~12 transplants a year and 4-6 ventricular assist devices a year, in patients of all complexities, with great outcomes. We recently performed our programs 500th transplant. We currently follow greater than 100 post-transplant patients and a similar number of heart failure patients. The new faculty member will join the team as a junior transplant cardiologist working with our group of four academic specialized cardiologists (Dr. Leigh Reardon, Dr. Nancy Halnon, and Dr. Juan “Chuck” Alejos), two transplant coordinator/nurse practitioner and an extensive multidisciplinary team who serve our cardiomyopathy/ventricular device/ heart failure/transplant population. We have outreach clinics at several local hospitals. The UCLA Mattel Children's Heart Transplant/Heart Failure team also spearheads the single ventricle, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, muscular dystrophies and pulmonary hypertension programs. These programs are multidisciplinary including hepatologists, electrophysiologists, neuromuscular specialist and pulmonologists. We also benefit from the adult transplant programs and their vast experience. Our center participates in multiple research/collaborative databases as well as clinical research studies.
The UCLA Mattel Children's Heart Center serves a population of over 25 million in the heart of the USA. Our referral base locally extends over 4 counties. Annually, we perform over 300 cardiac surgeries (including hybrid procedures), over 600 cardiac catheterizations (including EP procedures), and 18,000 echocardiograms. We have a growing group of cardiologists covering all other subspecialties (EP, interventional, advanced imaging and fetal. We have a collaborative program with Children's Hospital Orange County with joint conferences and we are responsible for the care of their cardiomyopathy population.
The position also includes a faculty appointment at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In addition to heart failure/transplant care, applicants will also participate in general cardiology outpatient clinics, inpatient cardiology service, consults and occasional general cardiology call. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience.

Pediatric Palliative Care - Health Sciences Series

The Department of Pediatrics, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, seek a qualified BE/BC Pediatric Palliative Care physician to join the growing Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care Program (PPPCP) and serve in a clinician-educator role with an academic appointment in the Health Science series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. The clinical focus and mission of the PPPCP is to provide robust, inter-disciplinary pediatric palliative care to infants, children, and adolescents dealing with the symptoms and stress of serious illness. This full-time position is in a highly academic department focused on research, clinical practice and teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
Duties will primarily include patient care (both inpatient consultation and outpatient clinic visits), teaching trainees rotating with the service (medical students, pediatric residents, and sub-specialty fellows), and participation in creative program development or scholarly efforts, such as clinical research, that will lead to academic advancement. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or other board-certified residency (e.g. Family Medicine or combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics) and must be board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. The candidate must be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in California. Experience in teaching is a strong plus. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. The clinical focus and mission of the PPPCP is to provide robust, inter-disciplinary pediatric palliative care to infants, children, and adolescents dealing with the symptoms and stress of serious illness. This full-time position is in a highly academic department focused on research, clinical practice and teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
Duties will primarily include patient care (both inpatient consultation and outpatient clinic visits), teaching trainees rotating with the service (medical students, pediatric residents, and sub-specialty fellows), and participation in creative program development or scholarly efforts, such as clinical research, that will lead to academic advancement. This is a full-time position. The primary need is for nighttime coverage of pediatric inpatients in an academic setting supervising pediatric residents, and providing consultation services to the emergency department, surgical services, and more. Occasional weeks on nonteaching subspecialty services may be included. The incumbents will have the opportunity to build new areas in clinical services and/or research programs according to their specific interests and expertise, with administrative time allotted. These include but not necessarily limited to reproductive health care, transgender care, and substance abuse. This position includes creative work such as research in the incumbents' interest area that will lead to academic promotion. Our current research teams in our division focus on reproductive health care, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal microbiome and inflammation, and eating disorders.
