Position Description:


Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to recruit, develop and retain exceptional talent focused on the research mission of UCLA and the Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC).


Coordinates all personnel related administrative activities and processes, including recruitment and retention, onboarding and offboarding, performance management and reviews, training and workforce development, salary and benefits administration, visa procurement, transfers, classification and compensation, equity reviews, records management, resource and space planning, internal communications, resource budget planning and analysis, and staff engagement and rewards programs.


Incumbent possesses a combination of relational skills and professional training to successfully manage a complex set of responsibilities and provide a concierge-like experience within in a campus-supporting academic and administrative environment. Creates and maintains a culture of diversity and inclusion through active focus on diverse hiring practices and ongoing staff collaboration activities.


Investigates employee and/or labor relations issues and brings to resolution.


Ensures organization is trained and compliant with UCLA, local, state, and federal policies, and regulations. Advises senior leadership on complex staffing needs. Identifies and develops plans for organizational change management as required.
