Position Summary The Network Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding university networks and systems from cyber threats. This may include monitoring network activity, identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures such as firewalls and encryption, conducting security assessments, investigating security breaches, and providing recommendations for enhancing network security. The Network Security Analyst reports to the Senior Director of Infrastructure & Operations and works as part of the Network Services team to design, operate, maintain, and optimize enterprise network services for the university. The duties of this position emphasize network design based on business needs and administration and support of data networks. This position works closely with other members of the support team to resolve service tickets regarding customer moves/adds/changes for data and voice network. The Network Security Analyst will meet deadlines set for assigned projects, provide effective customer service to campus users regarding network connectivity and participate in cross-functional teams to support university goals and objectives related to administration of the campus network. FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range: $6,500 per month - $8,000 per month, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training

Minimum Qualifications
To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in technical, information network systems is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, industrial technology, telecommunications or a related technical field, or equivalent training and experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Network Analyst include a basic knowledge of telecommunications and transmission technologies, including network architecture, topologies, protocols, programming applications and interfaces appropriate to the defined work area and assignments. Based on specialized assignments, a position may also require background, and/or licensure if required, in computer operating systems, broadcast network functions, or telecommunication switching systems.
Required Qualifications Education & Experience: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent training and experience. • Demonstrated experience writing and maintaining documentation. • 3+ years of enterprise-level experience with Alcatel/Lucent, Cisco, or equivalent enterprise switches and routers. • 4+ years of enterprise-level experience with copper and fiber data network infrastructure and troubleshooting related connectivity and equipment used for testing fiber and copper infrastructure. • 4+ years of experience in telecommunications field work performing telecommunications service moves/adds/changes for network locally and in remote offices. • Experience managing enterprise systems with 5K+ users. • Knowledge and experience with Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, and related routing protocols. • Experience managing networking needs for a multi-tenant data center. • Demonstrated proficiency in the configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise-level switches, routers, and wireless controllers. • Demonstrated knowledge of the OSI model network fundamentals as well as strong technical understanding of principles of Layer-2/Layer-3 network design and data communications. • Demonstrated knowledge of network protocols e.g. TCP/UDP, ICMP, SNMP, and ARP and routing protocols. • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Windows, and Linux server operating environments as they relate to network and application troubleshooting as well as understanding authentication, authorization, and encryption protocols and utilities. • Strong understanding of network security, application and security certificate management, and data encryption. • Ability to independently identify and implement critical maintenance fixes and to isolate and correct malfunctions, including routing problems in complex technical environments. Departmental Overview
The California Policy Lab (CPL) generates research insights for government impact. Through hands-on partnerships with government agencies, CPL performs rigorous research across issue silos and builds the data infrastructure necessary to improve programs and policies that millions of Californians rely on every day. We work on California's most urgent issues, including homelessness, poverty, criminal justice reform, and education inequality. We facilitate close working partnerships between policymakers and researchers at the University of California to help evaluate and improve public programs through rigorous empirical research and technical assistance. CPL is a center within the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE).
The Research Assistant/Associate is a critical member of CPL research teams working on policy issues such as criminal justice, education, employment, health, and the social safety net. The Research Assistant/Associate will apply a variety of data analysis and statistical modeling approaches to large datasets in real-world settings. They will collect and clean and prepare data for analysis, collaborate in research design and model development, and implement studies via advanced data analysis, all while working on multiple research projects concurrently. Specifically, the Research Assistant/Associate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing large administrative datasets; helping to design and implement rigorous research designs, including randomized control trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental studies; preparing graphs, tables, and other displays of research results; preparing reports and presentations; and developing other policy-relevant deliverables. The Research Assistant/Associate will contribute to a growing practice of advanced analytical solutions to provide data-driven research and technical assistance to governmental partners. We seek applicants who are confident bridging the gap between academic researchers and government policymakers, and who want to carry out joint research agendas with CPL partners.
We may potentially be hiring more than one Research Assistant/Associate, and value applicants with experience analyzing administrative data in one or more of the policy areas we focus on. The California Policy Lab (CPL) generates research insights for government impact. Through hands-on partnerships with government agencies, CPL performs rigorous research across issue silos and builds the data infrastructure necessary to improve programs and policies that millions of Californians rely on every day. We work on California's most urgent issues, including homelessness, poverty, criminal justice reform, and education inequality. We facilitate close working partnerships between policymakers and researchers at the University of California to help evaluate and improve public programs through rigorous empirical research and technical assistance. Environmental Health & Safety is a consulting and compliance organization within and for the university. The Safety Specialist II will assist the director in developing, implementing, managing, and documenting compliance with state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and codes in safety, health, and environmental protection. We investigate accidents. The risk management functions also reside in the department. Mold, lead, and asbestos management. DOT and IAUDA shipping compliance of dangerous goods. Hazardous spill cleanup.
• Occupational safety duties from risk assessments and job hazard analysis, PPE, accident investigation to remediation of conditions and workers compensation across all aspects of the University. To develop plans, procedures, policy, guidelines, training and compliance standards to assist student, faculty and staff. Oversight of the occupational medical operations and surveillance.
• Fire life safety inspection oversight and testing of systems, buildings, events, and wildfire risks.
• Lab Safety includes chemical safety, biological safety, waste management, laser safety, radiation safety, and IACUC compliance.
• Risk management - accident investigation, filing insurance, certificate of insurance tracking, Coordinating and obtaining insurance coverage for events and activities.
• Coordination with UT System RMO for claims.

Position Summary
The Senior Director of Enterprise Systems & Data Services, reports to the AVP for Planning & Digital Transformation and serves as a member of the IRT leadership team. The Senior Director manages a high-performing team of analysts, developers, and modelers. The position is responsible for delivering a sustainable data warehouse and reporting platform to meet current and emerging campus data needs. The platform will meet both strategic and operational needs for data and reports for multiple divisions including Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Advancement, and Budget and Finance. When possible, reports should be designed to meet campus-wide needs that span divisions. The platform currently includes Oracle, Cognos, Informatica, SPSS Modeler, and Tableau.
This position serves as an agent of IRT and creates partnerships between IRT and other divisions on campus, as well as shared governance groups. Position Summary

10% Fundraising & Development
• Actively works to identify and develop funding opportunities for the Institute - including grants, revenue generating programs, and sponsored programs. • Identifies gift opportunities, and proactively collaborates with the College of • Engineering Development Office and University Relations to share these opportunities with potential donors. • Works with the College of Engineering to liaise and cultivate JIDI Industry Advisory Board. With the Senior Director of External Relations, supports the design and organization of the Industrial Advisory Board meetings. • May provide guidance to faculty leadership regarding funding, new venture development and other resource acquisitions.
10% Partnerships & External Relations
• In collaboration with the Senior Director of External Affairs, explores opportunities to engage government sponsors, industry partners, and international organizations. • Cultivates and builds collaborations, partnerships, and relationships with these entities. • Proactively collaborates with the College of Engineering's Industry Relations and International Office (GLOBE) to identify and develop potential partnerships and collaborations. • Tracks relevant trends in education and industry, and cultivates relationships with peer institutions. The Office of Wellbeing Education was established in 2022 and is responsible for health promotion for the SMU community, including oversight of the Wellbeing Education Student Team (WESTies) that provides peer education. Additionally, the University’s recovery efforts are housed within the office. There is considerable opportunity for the development and growth of wellbeing efforts at SMU as this office continues to take shape.
About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Director of Wellbeing Education works as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students leadership team in assessing, developing, managing, and promoting a holistic health and wellness culture at Southern Methodist University (SMU). This position will develop and implement a vision for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education and work collaboratively with offices and departments across campus to promote wellbeing, specifically those within the Division of Student Affairs. The Director of Wellbeing Education supervises staff members, including the recovery program coordinator.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education using evidence-based health promotion approaches to develop a vision, strategies, and programs that advance a culture of holistic health and wellbeing and address critical priority areas for student wellness at SMU. This includes supervising the recovery program coordinator.
Collaborate with colleagues across campus and within the Division of Student Affairs in planning and implementing large- and small-scale programming and presentations for the campus that promote health and wellbeing.
Conduct health needs assessments and other public health surveys to drive program planning. Produce comprehensive reports to educate stakeholders and inform strategic planning and decision-making. Complete the biannual Drug Free Campus-Act reports.
Support the ongoing work of the Student Recovery Program and oversee the substance use prevention efforts on campus.
Maintain and oversee department budgets in partnership with the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and the Senior Financial Budget Officer for the Division of Student Affairs. Pursue additional funding for program and office support through collaboration with the Division of Development and External Affairs' fundraising efforts and through grant writing.
Provide direction and leadership for a core group of students to promote awareness and effective delivery of health-related information and programs. Recruit, train, and supervise 10-15 Wellbeing Education Team members (WESTies) each year.
Serve as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Leadership Team.
The position requires some evening and weekend work depending upon training requests and student needs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree is required. Field of study for degree in public health, higher education or other closely related field, is required.
A minimum of five years of work experience in the field of health education or health promotion is required. College health and wellbeing experience or experience with corporate wellbeing initiatives is required.
Experience with developing and utilizing student/peer leaders is preferred. Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis is preferred.
Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) credential is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

About the Department:
The Office of Wellbeing Education was established in 2022 and is responsible for health promotion for the SMU community, including oversight of the Wellbeing Education Student Team (WESTies) that provides peer education. Additionally, the University’s recovery efforts are housed within the office. There is considerable opportunity for the development and growth of wellbeing efforts at SMU as this office continues to take shape.
About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Director of Wellbeing Education works as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students leadership team in assessing, developing, managing, and promoting a holistic health and wellness culture at Southern Methodist University (SMU). This position will develop and implement a vision for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education and work collaboratively with offices and departments across campus to promote wellbeing, specifically those within the Division of Student Affairs. The Director of Wellbeing Education supervises staff members, including the recovery program coordinator.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership for the newly-created Office of Wellbeing Education using evidence-based health promotion approaches to develop a vision, strategies, and programs that advance a culture of holistic health and wellbeing and address critical priority areas for student wellness at SMU. This includes supervising the recovery program coordinator.
Collaborate with colleagues across campus and within the Division of Student Affairs in planning and implementing large- and small-scale programming and presentations for the campus that promote health and wellbeing.
Conduct health needs assessments and other public health surveys to drive program planning. Produce comprehensive reports to educate stakeholders and inform strategic planning and decision-making. Complete the biannual Drug Free Campus-Act reports.
Support the ongoing work of the Student Recovery Program and oversee the substance use prevention efforts on campus.
Maintain and oversee department budgets in partnership with the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and the Senior Financial Budget Officer for the Division of Student Affairs. Pursue additional funding for program and office support through collaboration with the Division of Development and External Affairs' fundraising efforts and through grant writing.
Provide direction and leadership for a core group of students to promote awareness and effective delivery of health-related information and programs. Recruit, train, and supervise 10-15 Wellbeing Education Team members (WESTies) each year.
Serve as a member of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Leadership Team.
The position requires some evening and weekend work depending upon training requests and student needs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree is required. Field of study for degree in public health, higher education or other closely related field, is required.
A minimum of five years of work experience in the field of health education or health promotion is required. College health and wellbeing experience or experience with corporate wellbeing initiatives is required.
Experience with developing and utilizing student/peer leaders is preferred. Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis is preferred.
Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) credential is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning, project and time management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects and multiple tasks.

Maintains competency in the use of all specialized instrumentation, computer programs, and databases required to effectively administer program components.
