Job Description

The City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) is seeking a dedicated Environmental Regulatory Coordinator to manage the City’s technical work related to the Portland Harbor Superfund Site, which includes a ten mile stretch of the Lower Willamette River, and associated upland stormwater source control work.
The Environmental Regulatory Coordinator will be a member of the Environmental Remediation Team and will work regularly with staff at US EPA, Oregon DEQ, other City Bureaus, BES programs and Portland communities  to ensure the Portland Harbor work is coordinated with and supports various regulatory and policy issues around sediment remediation, stormwater source control, and environmental justice.
The position requires substantial judgment on addressing complex issues and an ability to collaborate and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. The Environmental Regulatory Coordinator is expected to carry out the position's responsibilities with initiative and independence while exercising sound professional judgment.
