Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice Provost and the Director of the Institute of World Affairs the primary functions of this position are to support and coordinate the activities undertaken related to and funded by the U.S. Department of Education National Resource Grant awarded to and administered by The Center for International Education and to support the outreach activities of the Institute of World Affairs. In addition, a function of this position is to track and manage grant funds associated with these activities.
Minimum Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution • A minimum of one year of work experience • General knowledge of standard accounting practices
Preferred Qualifications
• Evidence of organizational and time management skills • Minimally two (2) years of work experience in administrative support, customer service, or a business setting • Experience in Higher Education • Familiarity with UWM accounting systems and procedures • Familiarity with various departmental programs at UWM • Grant management experience • Technical expertise with Windows applications and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of global events • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures • Technical expertise with Windows applications and Microsoft Office, as well as applicant and prospective student data management systems • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, business contacts, and the general public • Attention to detail • Good sense of judgment and discretion
