-          Amazing employee benefitsThe Major Gifts Assistant is responsible for supporting PPCW’s Development Department’s major gifts program and team. This role will assist with all aspects and components of major gift efforts. The position will support the major gifts team with events, donor communications, database tracking and reporting, and all other related activities as needed.
 
Compensation: Starting rate of pay is $18.24 -$21.36 depending upon experience. Annual step increases are determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Schedule:  Full Time (37.5) Monday to Friday

Location:  Portland, OR

Position Details:  This is a union represented, hourly (non-exempt) position.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide support for all major gift fundraising and stewardship events. Responsibilities to include: invitations, RSVP tracking, registration and data entry, logistics, day-of set up and clean up, and guest acknowledgement.
  • Support the Chief Development Officer, Director of Development, and other major gifts team members with stewardship activities, contact reports, donor records maintenance, and administrative support.
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, reports, correspondence, gift acknowledgements, donor/prospect meeting briefings, event briefings, and large-scale donor mailings.
  • Serve as the lead staff member on House Parties, Town Halls, and other events to forward giving campaigns and major donor cultivation.
  • Support the activities of special volunteer committees, including the Board Development Committee, by scheduling meetings, arranging refreshments, producing meeting notices, materials, minutes, and follow up.
  • Participate as a team member in all department programs.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Two (2) years professional experience in fundraising, sales, recruiting, or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience with event planning. 
  • Ability to effectively work independently and with teams on multiple, simultaneous, diverse tasks while being attentive to detail and accuracy.  
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
