The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Nevada Ready 21 (NR21) Technology Education Specialist for the College of Education. The position will collaborate with other project facilitators across Nevada to develop and facilitate online and blended professional development for K-12 teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders with a focus on the Nevada Academic Content Standards, 21st century skills, and computer science. Other duties include, but are not limited to: facilitating computer science instruction for K-12 students in the state of Nevada; supporting these coaches with high-quality professional learning and mentorship; managing statewide Canvas learning management system (LMS); performing strategic project planning for various conferences; preparing, implementing, and evaluating the summer Girls Math Camp in support of the Northern Nevada Girls Math and Technology Program; contributing to blog and social media outlets for Nevada Ready 21; curating, vetting, developing, and posting educational resources; and other duties as assigned.
Masters and two (2) years or a Doctorate and one (1) year of experience.
Related Experience: Teaching in grades 5-12 and/or providing teacher professional development, with a preference for someone with who has experience with educational technology and introductory computer coding.
Some in-state travel to support schools across the state and overnight travel to southern or rural Nevada school locations may be required.
