Minimum Qualifications Beginning salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; hiring range between $50K - $61K. Preference is for individual to have Level IV certification; however, an applicant with less certification will be considered. Researches problems and complaints regarding commercial and residential buildings, building construction and code compliance. Responds to complex and sensitive building issues. Resolves complex and sensitive customer service issues, either personally, by telephone or in writing. Maintains records and documents of customer service issues and resolutions. Lead and manage staff in the Division's Office of Technology Services engaged in technology operations, solutions delivery, and the provision of examination support services; Direct the work of the Office through subordinate supervisors. The Crime Scene Investigator 1 is part of a promotional path. Incumbents in the Crime Scene Investigator 1 classification will be promoted to the Crime Scene Investigator 2 classification upon satisfactory completion of an approved promotional plan, which includes obtaining certifications outlined below within two and a half years (30 months) of hire. The Crime Scene Investigator 2 is a highly trained and specialized professional responsible for conducting scientific investigations involving the identification, preservation, and analysis of trace evidence. In addition, they are trained in latent print examination and comparison. As a key member of the investigative team, Crime Scene Investigator 2s perform a variety of complex and specialized tasks to collect, preserve, and identify criminal evidence at crime scenes, as well as analyze evidence in the laboratory. To be a Crime Scene Investigator 2, incumbents must possess specialized training and certifications in forensic science, and must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of advanced analytical techniques and tools. They must be able to provide expert testimony in court on their methods and the results of their analysis. The Crime Scene Investigator 2 role differs from the Crime Scene Investigator 1, which does not require the same level of specialized training and certifications upon hire.
