Reports To: Manager, Corporate Training and Economic Development

FLSA Status:   Exempt

Amount of Travel Required:   Day and Overnight

Salary Grade:  C

Positions Supervised:  None

 

LOCATION:  Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS:  40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

  MINIMUM STARTING SALARY*:  $60,449/year
*Current benefit eligible employees will be placed within the pay range based on their current rate/range.

POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinate training for public safety, the military and private security-focused businesses.  Provide leadership to the design, coordination, and implementation of training for NTWC and the organizations served.  Hire instructors to deliver training, coordinate instructor and facility schedules, purchase equipment, supplies and training materials for training courses.  Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and other colleges to promote NWTC programs.  Initiate contracts for multiple recipient and one to one contracts to generate revenue and to support division operating costs.  Meet assigned revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Assist in the development of the vision and direction for the department. Develop action plan items consistent with the goals and objectives of the department and that support student success.
  • Responsible for generating a revenue stream to support training services with annual goals.
  • Coordinate the design, development and implementation of training programs including the selection and hiring of faculty and consultants.
  • Assist in creating and developing marketing materials and/or correspondence of training offerings.
  • Research national trends, regional opportunities, and local needs and develop new training offerings in collaboration with divisional staff and customers.
  • Oversee the accuracy of contract pricing, which includes generating and writing contracts.
  • Maintain knowledge of public safety security trends and technologies through professional development courses, training attendance and surveys, and committee and task force participation.
  • Oversee the purchasing, distribution and maintaining of department instructional materials, equipment, curriculum, and course documentation needs.
  • Responsible for obtaining and documentation of course competencies and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships, partnerships and/or sponsorships with community agency representatives, local, state and national business associations, and state and national accreditation organizations.
  • Support College initiatives by providing input to team action plans.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or related area. Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in Criminal Justice or related area.

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Certificates & Licenses

Instructor certifications in public safety field, such as firearms, non-lethal weapons and non-lethal training weapons/ammo, preferred.

Other Requirements

Experience and training working with Law Enforcement, Correction, Fire, EMS, Military and Private Security to identify and meet training needs

Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
