The successful candidate will have:
A degree in civil or environmental engineering, environmental science, public health, biology, chemistry, or a related field, and at least three to five years of related full-time professional experience.
A Massachusetts Grade 2M wastewater license, or ability to obtain such license within 18 months of hire.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proofreading and editing capability.
With minimal instruction or guidance, proficiency in Microsoft Access, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
The ability to build collaborative relationships, flexibility to work with shifting priorities, and a willingness to learn new tools and systems.

This individual will work with internal and external partners to develop and coordinate the implementation of source water protection plans throughout the state. Duties will include:
Supervising staff across the state who are charged with developing source water protection plans in cooperation with stakeholders and municipalities.
Facilitating program collaboration between multiple state, regional, and local entities, as well as the regulatory community and the general public.
Conducting or overseeing investigations on matters such as source water assessment and protection, water storage, treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and discharge, point-source and non-point source pollution, permitting, compliance, and regulatory issues.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a passion and interest in preserving and advancing water quality. Ideally the candidate will have:
A master’s degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, earth science, environmental health, or related science, health, or policy degree.
Seven years of related technical or professional experience, including supervisory or managerial experience.
Experience collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders in implementing environmental programs.
Knowledge and experience with the development and implementation of source water protection plans, with a working knowledge of groundwater and surface water hydrology.

NEIWPCC is seeking a full-time Environmental Analyst to collaborate with municipal stakeholders and community leaders to develop and implement plans to protect drinking water sources throughout the Capital Region of New York state.
What You’ll Do
As a NEIWPCC Environmental Analyst and an essential member of the Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2), you will:
Work with municipal leaders, water operators, consultants, local health departments and other community stakeholders to develop DWSP2 plans and provide technical assistance during plan implementation.
Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data to inform recommendations and prepare technical documentation for a variety of stakeholders and for external outreach.
Utilize GIS to create community maps and will be a resource to for questions related to sources of drinking water and locations of possible contamination.
Assist with other tasks related to water supply protection, such as water quality sampling, database management, data analysis, performing sanitary surveys or capacity assessments for public water systems.

The successful candidate will have a passion and interest in preserving and advancing water quality. Ideally the candidate will have:
A degree in environmental sciences or related field

NEIWPCC is seeking a full-time Environmental Analyst to collaborate with municipal stakeholders and community leaders to develop and implement plans to protect drinking water sources throughout the Capital Region of New York state.
What You’ll Do
As a NEIWPCC Environmental Analyst and an essential member of the Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2), you will:
Work with municipal leaders, water operators, consultants, local health departments and other community stakeholders to develop DWSP2 plans and provide technical assistance during plan implementation.
Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data to inform recommendations and prepare technical documentation for a variety of stakeholders and for external outreach.
Utilize GIS to create community maps and will be a resource to for questions related to sources of drinking water and locations of possible contamination.
Assist with other tasks related to water supply protection, such as water quality sampling, database management, data analysis, performing sanitary surveys or capacity assessments for public water systems.

Spend your summer by the lake! Join the efforts of NEIWPCC and the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) to prevent the spread of harmful and destructive invasive species, working to ensure a healthy and clean environment for wildlife and recreationalists. We are seeking multiple seasonal boat launch stewards to deliver interpretive invasive species spread prevention messages to boaters on Lake Champlain during the summer of 2024 and to inspect and decontaminate watercraft as appropriate.
As a boat launch steward, you will be trained to:
Greet visitors to Lake Champlain and familiarize the public with aquatic invasive species information.
Record lake-user information on mobile tablets.
Collect and identify aquatic organisms.
Inspect watercraft, trailers, and recreational equipment for aquatic organisms.
Conduct hot water high pressure decontaminations as needed.
Successful candidates will be organized, have excellent public communication skills, have experience with data collection, and have familiarity with invasive species. Position Description:

The 1942 Assistant Materials Coordinator will be responsible for warehouse operations, as well as purchasing functions for Hetch Hetchy Water and Power. The position will also be responsible for purchasing for major capital improvement projects (sometimes in the multi-million-dollar range). The position will assume responsibility for establishing a functional tool room, as well as ongoing management of the expanded warehouse and toolroom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plans, assigns, supervises and reviews the work of subordinate staff engaged in the maintenance of inventory management records, determination of materials requirements, preparation of purchase requisitions, delivery orders, term purchases agreements and processing accounts payable documents; prepares periodic and special reports of unit activities.
2. Confers with section or division managers and supervisors regarding material support operations, short or long range plans effecting supplies and usage; and adjusts or recommends necessary inventory, storage or reorder changes.
3. Confers with departmental users and vendor representatives regarding service, product quality and durability, and purchase feasibility; implements systems for providing information to users on status of order; investigates and resolves user and accounts problems.
4. Prepares specifications for services and major capital improvement purchases in conjunction with project engineering.
5. Evaluates inventory levels and reorder points by compiling and analyzing utilization statistics; advises management of significant transactions and trends; recommends changes in established targets when indicated; plans and directs annual and special inventories of supplies and equipment; and maintains a computerized inventory management information system.
6. Participates in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures in conformance with departmental and City and County purchasing and storeroom policies; develops and implements internal distribution systems and security policy; regularly reviews existing systems and procedures, and recommends revisions as necessary.
7. Selects and evaluates subordinates personnel; approves timecard records; documents and makes recommendations on employee performance and discipline; identifies training needs and determines appropriate training programs

• Knowledge of pipeline design and repair, and pipeline design standards. • Principles, practices, concepts, and standards of capital project management as applied to the planning, design, cost estimating, Construction, installation, and inspection of a wide variety of facilities and infrastructure. • Principles and practices of capital project budget development and administration, contract negotiation and management, and sound financial management policies and procedures. • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations with specific emphasis on water treatment, storage, pipeline, pump, and related infrastructure design. • Practices of researching capital project issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting effective staff reports.
Ideal Training and Education: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or mechanical engineering, or a related field
Required License or Certificate
