This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Information Security & Privacy Staff of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of information security.

Provides technical advice concerning security implementation within all FDIC software and provides management and support for IT security programs. Manages project teams within ISPS for IT security activity programs and makes decisions and develops recommendations in the security program area that influence important agency or division IT policies and inter-related programs.
Develops and maintains standards, principles, reference models and frameworks that support IT security architecture, including communicating the standards, principles and framework in various forums. Creates visual depictions of the IT elements that compose the IT security architecture and the specification of the relationships between those components and stays abreast of all current and emerging technologies related to development and design of business processes and applications (such as a services oriented architecture (SOA), in support of security architecture.
Assesses technology and IT industry security direction to determine if program changes are needed and assess Corporation, legislative and oversight agency actions to determine if they require program changes or new initiatives in the area of security architecture and maintains liaison with other Federal agencies, industry groups and vendors to keep abreast of new developments in the IT industry that impact FDIC programs.
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the Private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (All IT Positions
(In addition to the minimum qualification requirements, IT positions must meet the below Basic Requirement):
You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS 13 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience providing a framework for IT security architecture including computer/system architectures, application architectures, IT analysis design, and development, personnel and organizational elements, hardware, software and implementation.
