The IT Special Projects and Video Creation Coordinator leads special projects, mostly related to modern IT communications for the campus community. The responsibilities of the Coodinator includes growing the use of modern communication skills in the UMass IT organization; training team members in modern communication (such as social media) skills; and providing more effective technology messaging for the campus community as new mechanisms for messaging emerge.
This position requires significant media planning and design skills to build programs and templates for efficient reuse across the organization. The goal is to increase transparency and training for the campus community as technology communication mechanisms evolve. The position requires significant experience in communication strategies, video, and social media to deliver key messages to the community, as well as to advance special project goals. This position collaborates with, and aligns with protocols from, University Relations.
The position is wide ranging and duties will vary significantly based on project and other needs. The successful candidate will form teams across IT units and involve non-IT team members as needed to produce technology and related content in a timely manner. The IT Special Projects and Video Creation Coordinator will lead these teams in promoting key strategic messages, promoting IT incident-related message, and in helping to meet technology training needs for the campus community in order to make more content available.
Imagine, create, and produce a variety of communications messages and create plans to increase video offerings for the campus community to be used on demand. This position will also work on other (in some cases non-media) IT special projects as assigned. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often while leading a high performing team.
