TechGROWTH Ohio Business Consultant (Grant Funded)
Voinovich School of Leadership & Public Affairs
Ohio University, Athens, Ohio
 
Overview: Seeking a senior business consultant
bringing early-stage technology firms from
idea through venturable status. Hands-on
experienced consulting for clients in 19-county
SE Ohio region of Ohio Third Frontier-funded
TechGROWTH Ohio program. Join an
experienced professional team with four years’
increasingly positive metrics, totaling a $9-$1
ratio of new money to State funding for the
region, with over $68M metrics achieved to date.
Multiple-stakeholder Partners group and private-sector-
match-funded pre-seed investment
portfolio, now in Fund II.

Job Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree
required. At least 5 years’ experience guiding
start-ups. Critical areas of prior professional
experience: securing venture capital funding
for businesses or clients, commercialization,
project management, debt or equity financing,
business plan creation, marketing research,
operational efficiency practices, and strategic
plan development. Excellent interpersonal, oral
and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: A Masters of
Business Administration degree. Six years of
consulting experience is preferred. Experience in
building and maintaining external partnerships,
innovation, licensing, and intellectual property
preservation a plus.
 
Location: This position is based at Ohio
University’s Athens campus, and the individual
must be able to drive throughout the 19-county
region as needed. Some overnight travel may
be required.
 
Salary: $60,000 – 70,500 range, based on
qualifications. Ohio University provides an
excellent benefits package.
