Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:  

Procurement strategy development and execution for $40 million portfolio raw material porfolio.  Areas of concentration include the following globally coordinated products: Water Treatment Chemicals/Services, Peroxides/Persulphates, Azo Initiatiors.  In addition, regional procurement of approximately 10 other raw materials such as Aluminum Sulphate, Sodium Aluminate, Aluminum Lactate, Ferric Chloride, and Polyacrylate. Position is responsible for supplier negotiations, business unit needs assessment, and coordination with North America and Global procurement teams.  Position interacts with supply chain and business leadership functions across 6• 8 business units, including Care Chemicals, Coatings, Petrochemicals, and Dispersions and Pigments.      
 
Qualifications
Required:

•  BS Engineering, Chemistry, Finance, Economics, or related field.  BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
•  5-12 years procurement or sales experience with significant negotiation expertise required.
•  Demonstrated proficiency in the following competencies: Market Knowledge, Effective Negotiation, Entrepreneurial Initiative, Change Orientation and Management, Analytical Thinking, Strategic Thinking, Coaching, Team Leadership and Collaboration, Communication and Interpersonal Understanding  

Desired:
• Five years plus experience in Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Engineering desired. 
• MBA
