Job Description

10-118 - Heating Plant Manager (Manager 180) School: Facilities Division Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success. West Chester University of Pennsylvania invites applicants for the position of Heating Plant Manager responsible for managing a central boiler plant, which produces steam for most of the buildings at WCU, its distribution system and personnel. The incumbent will be responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of boilers and associated systems and equipment. This involves the planning, organizing and directing a unionized work force of 11 employees; budgeting; inventory control; ordering parts and supplies; maintenance programs; planning maintenance work; originating contracts; overseeing projects; and training.


Job Requirements

Requirements: Candidates should have 5 or more years of boiler plant experience; extensive knowledge of steam plant systems; familiarity with managing equipment; negotiating contracts, budget management and manpower planning. Supervisory experience required with good verbal and written communications skills. Proficient in e-mail,Word and Excel. College degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  The salary for this position is mid $50s and includes an excellent benefits package including undergraduate tuition fee waiver for self and dependents Applicants must successfully complete the interview process to be considered a finalist.
