CHP??provides housing opportunities and related services to individuals of low-wealth in the U.S. Our services include the design,??development, construction, preservation, weatherization, and/or management of healthy and sustainable affordable housing stock. CHP also delivers homeownership and resident services that promote financial literacy and stability. In addition, we offer education and training in energy and conservation practices, weatherization, and green building. CHP works each year with thousands of individuals and families, building professionals, homeowners, and other people in need of assistance.
We are registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and are headquartered in Christiansburg, Virginia. CHP has additional offices in central and northern Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Florida. CHP employs almost 400 people and is governed by a volunteer board of directors composed of experts in areas such as real estate development, finance, sustainable building, and property management.
In 2015,??CHP was??ranked as one of the nation???s Top 50 Affordable Housing Developers by Affordable Housing Finance magazine and listed by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) as one of the 101 largest affordable multifamily property managers in the U.S.
