Director of Student Success Planning and Administration Student Success JOB #: 1707335 Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $89,900 - $120,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Involves providing strategic guidance, advising and decision making on behalf of an executive (generally defined as Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, or Vice Provost), relative to strategic academic and resource planning, short and long-range policy development, communications and high-level analyses of new program development. In addition to executive advising, may also manage an independent program and / or professional staff engaged in a range of administrative functions. The Director of Student Success Planning and Administration (DSSPA) serves as key strategist with the Vice Provost for Student Success (VPSS) in initiating and developing new strategic direction, long- and short- range plans and innovative initiatives, with a particular focus on divisional planning and administration. In these areas, the DSSPA has high level authority to make official commitments and to broadly represent the VPSS's interests across the organization. The DSSPA must be able to respond to issues in the job domain with little or no precedent, having the expertise and responsibility to resolve highly complex issues. The DSSPA supervises divisional office staff in the area of planning and administration. The DSSPA exercises a high level of judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. In addition, the DSSPA routinely manages sensitive and confidential matters, and develops solutions on a wide range of issues on behalf of the VPSS. The DSSPA serves as a member of the DSS leadership team, working closely with the team to ensure that divisional goals and directions from the VPSS are met. The DSSPA also works closely with leadership across the campus to focus on initiatives that involve cross-divisional, multi-unit collaboration, particularly focused on student life and student affairs. The Division of Student Success comprises a large number of offices in the area of student affairs, spanning health and psychological services, including the Dean of Students, student organizations, student conduct, academic and holistic student support services, resource centers, educational access support, career and professional development, and student success research and assessment. Its overarching goal is to provide holistic support in the area of student success. The division provides leadership and support for the campus in the area of academic student success, across departments, divisions, colleges, and administrative units. Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree. Proven ability to plan and set administrative priorities that promote an organizational vision and mission. Sound strategic-thinking and a proven ability to develop workable strategies and solutions. Ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad and diverse range of people. Knowledge of operational budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting techniques.
