The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor position is located at our McGaw Road facility in Obetz, OH in support of the assembly, and foaming operations.
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will support and interact with all direct production and indirect supporting functions to include but not limited to the Plant Manager, Production Supervisors, Master Scheduler, Production Control, Material Planner, Order Entry Analyst, , Quality, and Engineering.
In this role, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the operation of incoming and outgoing shipments. Is actively involved in the receipt and shipment of finished goods, raw materials and supplies. Required to ensure inventory accuracy and product is handled in a first in, first out manner. May be required to prepare and monitor department budget. Responsible for warehouse staffing and assignment of duties to subordinate staff. Reviews the effectiveness of operating and safety procedures, maintenance of equipment, space utilization, and protection of purchased items/supplies. Responsible for overseeing and performing tasks involved in receiving and shipping of finished goods, raw materials, supplies and equipment in a warehouse environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Supervises the shipping and receiving area to ensure the accurate and timely handling/processing of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies.
Ensures that goods are verified against records of shipment to ensure that deliveries match orders in quantity and quality. Supervises the maintenance of records of damaged or defective items and discrepancies.
Supervise material handler activities to ensure production lines have materials for manufacturing processes at all times with the goal of no downtime.
Develops and monitors work schedules to ensure shipping, receiving and material handler activities are covered without the need of overtime. Informs management of progress, priorities and problems to ensure that issues are handled in a timely manner.
Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interviews and recommends applicants for hire as warehouse and receiving associates.
Directs movement of shipments and receiving platforms to storage and production work areas.
Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
Coordinates activities with other departments to ensure that products are shipped and received according to client specifications.
Utilizes knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures to develop and communicate improved procedures.
Inspects shipping and receiving operations by performing process audits to ensure procedure compliance.
Inspects all material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel and Warehouse Supervisor & Materials Manager, and if necessary contacts outside service provider for repair quotes.
Maintains HFI vehicles pick-up and delivery records.
Maintains vehicle pre-trip, post-trip and maintenance records, audits.
Ensure associates follow appropriate procedures to ensure inventories are accurate.
Maintains first in, first out inventory accuracy requirements.
Continuously monitors layout and space requirements in an ever changing business environment.
Actively engaged in employee training and development.
Develops, posts and manages employees to metrics.
Performs daily pre-shift communications.
Assists employees in shipping, receiving and material handling functions in a "hands on" environment when needed.
Lead 5S activities at the Warehouse and Shipping/Receiving areas and support 5s throughout the plant.
Performs audits to forklifts to ensure they are in good condition and daily audit sheets are being completed.
Supports Investigating and solving customer problems and issues.
Compiling and maintaining applicable metrics as required.
The Shipping and Receiving position requires a college degree and equivalent experience. Familiarity with the automotive supply industry is a plus.
The ideal candidate has four or more years of shipping and receiving experience. The individual must possess strong analysis/problem solving and communication skills. Candidates must possess and have a proven ability to effectively function in a team

General position responsibilities
Responsibilities include management of production and the effective operations of the various production departments. Ensure that ISO 9000 procedural requirements are met. Other responsibilities may be defined by the General Manager.
Education and Training Requirements
This Plant Manager position requires a college degree in engineering or management and equivalent experience. Management experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Specific training to improve job skills will be discussed during each performance review.
I. Specific Responsibilities
Provide and demonstrate production leadership direction to safety, production and quality related issues.
Responsible for staffing and training of the supervisory and production superintendent positions within the department.
Enforce cross-training of all employees within the department.
Responsible for enforcing all company policies and procedures.
Support and Maintain a safe working conditions for the production workforce
Identify and report potential maintenance related issues
Coordinate activities within the production team to help achieve overall plant performance goals.
Control direct and indirect labor targets to meet overall plant labor targets.
Work with other department managers to achieve continuous improvement objectives.
Assist and develop salary associates
Provide salary associates with performance reviews and feedback.
Lead and support HFI 5S programs
Support and Comply with HFI’s ISO and EHS standards, procedures and guidelines
Work / Lead hourly personnel, salary, maintenance, quality and management team members to problem solve and correct production related issues.
Maintains all department forms, policies and procedures
Meet schedule attainment objectives on a daily basis.
Improve processes to maintain or improve product cost, quality and consistency.
Meet company objectives and target for plant scrap
4. Communicate potential delivery delays to appropriate individuals within the company.
5. Provide reporting to management to demonstrate performance status relative to operating goals.
6. Supervise and schedule the activities of personnel assigned to these duties.
7. Lead production team on all launch and new product deliverables
8. Lead HFI’s continuous improvement activities using lean manufacturing techniques.
9. Meet or exceed plant labor effectiveness targets
10. Maintain Key Performance indicators (KPI’s) for production along with actions to improve.
11. Provide input to the capital planning process
