ENTRY LEVEL/JUNIOR MECHICANICAL ENGINEER COMPANY DESCRIPTION: SBE is a progressive, growing engineering consulting firm dedicated solely to engineering the mechanical and electrical systems on movable bridges and heavy movable structures. The firm serves an expanding list of clients throughout the United States and Canada. Our clients include some of the largest engineering and construction firms in the world, as well as national railroads and state departments of transportation. LOCATION: Doylestown, PA; off-site travel required. SALARY/BENEFITS: Full-time position with competitive salary ($60-$75K + bonus) and benefits package which includes full medical and dental insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid vacation and holidays plus sick time, with a 401k retirement plan.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Entry/Junior Level)
This opening seeks a Mechanical Engineer with a genuine interest in pursuing E.I.T. and P.E. certifications. Work focuses on heavy movable structures such as movable bridges, cranes, and ferry terminals. This role will entail both field and office work; approximately 25% to 30% of the time devoted to field inspection and testing work outside of the office. Office work includes support of Senior Mechanical Engineers with preparation of written reports, machinery measurements and calculations, design engineering using CAD and other software tools, project budget estimating and bidding, as well as project and overall engineering services presentations. The position requires a great deal of coordination and communication (written and oral) with other engineering disciplines, primarily electrical, architectural, structural and civil.
Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (recent graduate).
Candidate must be available to travel within the US and Canada by car and/or airplane.
Ideal Candidate has demonstrated engineering work/internship experience.
Candidate will be asked to participate in Criminal Background Screening, Drug & Alcohol Testing, and selection review including a written test focused on basic engineering calculations.
Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License and authorized Passport without travel restrictions.
